πŸ§²πŸ”· Little minds at work! πŸ”·πŸ§²

Today, our curious explorer was busy investigating blocks and magnetic shapes, testing, balancing, and discovering what fits where. Through play, children develop problem-solving skills, spatial awareness, and confidence as they make sense of the world around them. ✨

πŸ’™ National PJ Day 2026 πŸ’™

What a wonderful day we had celebrating National PJ Day in support of The PJ Project!

Our tamariki and staff arrived in their favourite pyjamas, ready for a day of fun, learning, and giving back. As always our wonderful centre community embraced the initiative, generously donating brand-new pyjamas and using the QR code to contribute helping keep children warm this winter.

Through this initiative, our children are learning about kindness, empathy, and the importance of helping others in our community. Every pair of pyjamas donated will make a real difference to a child in need.

A huge thank you to our amazing whānau for your support and generosity. Together, we are helping to spread warmth, comfort, and care this winter.

πŸ’™ Celebrating Exploration in Every Form πŸ’™

At Active Explorers St Lukes, we value and celebrate the unique ways each child experiences and engages with the world around them.

Today, one of our learners explored a sensory water experience in a way that was meaningful to herβ€”dipping her hair into the water and feeling the sensation as she investigated with curiosity and confidence.

Sensory play provides opportunities for children to explore, regulate, discover, and make sense of their environment through their senses. By following children's interests and respecting their individual ways of learning, we create an inclusive environment where every child feels seen, valued, and supported to be themselves.

✨ Every child learns differently, and every child belongs.

πŸš‘ A Special Visit πŸš‘

Today we were fortunate to welcome Sue from the wonderful team at Hato Hone St John to our centre!

The children were excited to learn about the important role ambulance officers play in helping people in our communities. They had the opportunity to explore the ambulance, learn about some of the equipment used by paramedics, and ask lots of thoughtful questions.

Experiences like these help children develop an understanding of the people who help keep us safe, while building confidence, curiosity, and a sense of connection to their wider community.

A huge thank you to Sue from the St John team for taking the time to visit us and share her knowledge. The children absolutely loved the experience and will be talking about it for days to come! 😊

Today in preschool, one of our tamariki proudly shared their learning by singing a Chinese song with confidence and joy. 🎢✨

Experiences like these encourage children to explore and appreciate different languages, cultures, and ways of communicating, while also building confidence, listening skills, memory, and curiosity about the world around them. 🌏❀️

At Active Explorers St Lukes we value creating opportunities for children to explore diversity, broaden their understanding of others, and celebrate the many cultures within our community and beyond. 🌱

πŸ“šβœ¨ Storytime Magic Active Explorers St Lukes βœ¨πŸ“š

Today we were so lucky to have Tanya from the Mt Albert Library for a special storytime session with our preschool children! 🌟

The tamariki were fully engaged as they listened to stories, joined in with songs, and explored the joy of books and language together. Experiences like these help foster a love for literacy, imagination, and community connections from an early age. ❀️

A big thank you to Tanya and the wonderful team at Mt Albert Library for visiting us and sharing such a fun and interactive morning with our children. We always value our relationship with our local community and look forward to many more visits to come! πŸ“–πŸ˜Š
