PIF NZ Scholarship Opportunities – Applications Now Open!
We’re excited to share two scholarship opportunities available through Te Tupu Whakaritorito (PIF NZ) for medical students and junior doctors interested in psychiatry.
RANZCP 2026 New Zealand Conference Scholarship
Location: Bay of Islands
Date: 12–14 October 2026
• Up to 6 scholarships available
• Includes full conference registration, access to the scientific program and PIF events, plus travel/accommodation support where needed
Open to current PIF members (or those with applications pending) who are:
NZ medical students
HMOs/RMOs (Year 1–2)
Applicants will submit a short statement outlining their interest in psychiatry, experience, career goals, and reflections on Māori and Pasifika mental health.
Applications close: Sunday 14 June 2026!

RANZCP NZ Faculty of Old Age Psychiatry Conference Scholarship at the Fable Hotel, Auckland
Date: 18–19 June 2026
• 2 scholarships available
• Includes full 2-day conference registration (excluding dinner)
A great opportunity to meet and learn from psychiatrists, geriatricians, GPs, and those working in old age psychiatry, with topics including capacity, end-of-life care, TMS, and case discussions.

SPIN is running our third psych mini-CEX study session of the year on Saturday the 23rd of May, from 3:00pm to 4:30pm over zoom!
The session is targeted towards fifth years, especially those who are currently on their psychiatry run, but is open to anyone! It will be run by a TI who will go through some cases and have some helpful tips and tricks for the mini-CEX.
It'll be a super relaxed atmosphere so come along for a chill chance to revise, ask questions from your peers and practise if you'd like to!
