🌿 Meet Jhen – Our Koru Room(preschool) Lead Teacher 🌿

We are delighted to have Jhen leading our Koru Room. With over 25 years of teaching experience across the Philippines, Indonesia, and New Zealand, she brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, and care to our tamariki.

Jhen loves engaging children through music, storytelling, drama, and meaningful conversations that inspire confidence, creativity, and a love of learning.

We’re so lucky to have her as part of the Pascals whānau. Be sure to say hello when you see her around the centre! 💚

This week we kicked off our first Bake Off Challenge – Pascal’s Little Bakers! 🍪

As part of our fundraising for the Starship Foundation, our tamariki rolled up their sleeves and helped make delicious shortbread cookies. This week’s theme was Comfort Food, and we were so grateful to our wonderful whānau for sharing their special family recipes.

🦔🍂 Our little hedgehogs have been busy!

Using simple materials and lots of imagination, the children created their own hedgehog costumes and explored the room through creative play. A wonderful way to encourage creativity, confidence, and fun learning together.

We’re so excited to share that our centre will be taking part in Starship’s Big Bake Off this June! 🧁

Each week, we’ll be diving into fun baking challenges with our tamariki. Alongside this, tamariki will enjoy hands-on learning experiences that connect to the event.

Why this matters:
Every year, more than 150,000 tamariki are cared for at Starship. New Zealand’s only specialist children’s hospital. They support some of our most vulnerable pēpi and tamariki, including those needing life-saving care in their earliest days.

Many of our families have a connection to Starship, and this is a beautiful way for us to come together and give back 💫
