We have had a wonderful camp. Absolutely amazing kids, parent helpers, and kaiako. Ngā mihi!
A connected community of positively engaged learners Each child is an individual with differing needs, talents and abilities.
Striving for excellence in teaching and learning with the aim of ensuring maximum achievement levels for all students is a key goal. At Sunnybrae Normal School we believe that all children have the right and ability to learn; we have high expectations of every student. Children learn at different rates and in different ways and we acknowledge this by providing a range of activities and settings for learning. On-going assessment informs the planning of programmes.

Our New Bokashi Project is Officially Underway!
Check out the Green Team members pictured here holding our brand new classroom caddies, Bokashi mix, and scrubbing brushes kindly donated to our school by Mitre 10 MEGA Glenfield.
This awesome donation means we can officially launch our school-wide Bokashi system alongside the Kaipātiki Project team. Every classroom is looking forward to taking ownership of their waste and reducing what goes to landfill.
We love our local community partnerships. Thank you so much, Mitre 10 Glenfield, for investing in our tamariki and our environment! 💚

Today four of our senior students represented Sunnybrae at the Mana Ora Youth Resilience Day to learn more about environmental sustainability, community connection and holistic well-being.
We can’t wait to hear from them about what they have learned.
Ngā mihi to Matua Stephen for taking our tamariki into the city using sustainable transport!

This week is support staff week in Aotearoa New Zealand and we want to acknowledge and appreciate the wonderful support staff at Sunnybrae.
We have so many wonderful adults here who guide, teach and take care of our tamariki and our school. Our office admin, accounts, librarian, specialist teachers, classroom release teachers, caretaker, ESOL support teacher and teacher aides and learning assistants!
I tried to get pictures of all these wonderful people but they were busy out there doing a great job.
Thank you team for all that you do, you are appreciated!

This afternoon we celebrated all of our great work of showing our school values last term by having our RICE Rewards afternoon!
It was great to have our whole school split into different groups with children of all ages learning and playing alongside each other. We love to see how this tuakana/teina approach to learning works and celebrates whanaungatanga!
Thanks to Mrs Barlow for organising this afternoon and to our staff for preparing such fun learning activities!
🐝 Sunnybee enjoyed his afternoon too 🐝
