Well done to the Year 5 & Year 6 students who braved the rainy weather last week and took part in the HPPA Soccer Funday. It had to be called off, but our students kept their spirits up, persevered and played their best.

The Kauri Team has been skipping their hearts out for Jumping June!

Some even taught their buddy class some skipping tricks too!

Two days, two exciting matches, and two draws! The competition remains wide open as teams continue their quest for World Cup glory 🏆

The Year 3 classes travelled to the Stardome today. They learned all about the Sun, Moon, and Earth in an interactive and engaging way!

Our tamariki have been enjoying their specialist music lessons this term, and have been using their voices, songs and instruments to learn songs, explore pitch, dynamics and composition.

We are excited to see this year’s New Zealand Book Awards for Children & Young Adult finalists. Congratulations to all the authors, illustrators, translators and publishers – and a huge thankyou for creating these wondrful books for our tamariki and rangatahi. If you are wondering what great books your children may enjoy reading – awards lists like these are the prefect place to start.

FIFA World Cup fever has hit BDS!! Lunchtime viewing is proving to be very popular.

This year Botany Downs is taking part in Jumping June. Every student in the school has been given a skipping rope and during our fitness time, we have been out skipping.

On Friday 26th June we will be having a Jumping June afternoon where they will be taking part in a number of different skipping activities. This will also be a house day. Students will be encouraged to come to school in their house colours with a gold coin donation for the Heart Foundation.
