Join us for breakfast as we acknowledge and celebrate Matariki! Enjoy performances from our Kapa Haka ropu, and coffee, hot chocolates and breakfast items will all be available for purchase!

‼ IMPORTANT MESSAGE – CHILD SAFETY ‼

IMPORTANT MESSAGE - CHILD SAFETY

This morning, on the way to school, one of our students was approached by an unknown person in a van similar to the one pictured. The student was offered lollies and asked to get into the vehicle. This occurred shortly before 9:00am on Dawson Road, near Mahurangi East Road.

We are incredibly proud of the student involved, who made a safe choice by saying no and quickly moving ahead to join a family walking nearby.

As a precaution, we will be reminding all students this afternoon about personal safety and what to do if approached by a stranger. We will not be discussing this specific incident with students, as our goal is to ensure they are informed, confident, and know how to respond appropriately, rather than feeling worried or scared.

We encourage parents and caregivers to take the opportunity to reinforce these messages at home. Key reminders include:
• Never get into a vehicle with someone you do not know. (Code words are great!)
• Never accept gifts, lollies, or offers from strangers.
• Move quickly to a safe place where other people are present.
• Tell a trusted adult immediately if something doesn't feel right.

Horizon School Talent Show: Friday 26 June

Join us as our talented students take to the stage! We can't wait to celebrate the creativity, courage, and talent of our Horizon students. Whānau are welcome to attend and cheer them on!

Our Space Disco was a truly stellar night! 🚀✨ It was wonderful to see so many students dancing and dressing up… and an unexpected highlight of the night was Mr Bennett being challenged to a lightsaber battle!
