Recently shortlisted in the Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Awards from more than 12,000 nominations worldwide, Mehwish joined Kathryn Ryan to discuss how she introduces students as young as five to robotics, algorithms and AI through engaging, hands-on learning experiences.

We were delighted to welcome grandparents and special friends to ACG Sunderland's 19th Annual Grandparents and Special Friends Day.
This cherished event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the special relationships that help shape and support our students throughout their lives. From sharing wisdom and encouragement to creating lasting memories, grandparents and special friends play an invaluable role in the growth and wellbeing of young people.
Our students were proud to showcase the performances they had been preparing, making the day a memorable occasion for all who attended.

Book Week 2026 was a wonderful celebration of reading, imagination, and creativity! πβ¨
Our students enjoyed a fun-filled week of book sharing, wacky hair, hats and glasses, buddy reading, author and illustrator visits, and our much-loved Book Character Parade. It was fantastic to see our students so excited about stories, characters, and the joy of reading.
A very special thank you to Lydia Rose, our amazing librarian, for all the time, care, and organisation she put into making Book Week such a success. Your passion for books and literacy continues to inspire our students and bring our school library to life.
Thank you also to our teachers, students, families, visiting authors and illustrators for helping make the week so memorable. What a brilliant way to celebrate the magic of books! π

A reminder to all families that tickets are now available for our College Production NEXT WEEK. Each year level has one show only, so please make sure you purchase tickets for the correct evening:
Year 7: Wednesday 10 June
Year 8: Thursday 11 June
Year 9: Friday 12 June
Tickets can be purchased from reception.
Adult tickets: $10
Child tickets: $5
Food and drinks will also be available, with profits going to charity.
A reminder that all students are required to attend on their performance night, as every student plays an important role in bringing the production to life.

To top off an amazing weekend, Sophia also received the Overall Gold Medal, making her #1 in her division!

πβοΈ Returning from the World Schools Team Championship with a Top 10 global finish, our ACG Sunderland students have come home with far more than results alone.
From competing against 26 teams across 19 countries to building resilience, strategic thinking, confidence, and teamwork under pressure, this international experience has been a remarkable journey of growth and achievement.
