Pūkeko Room Gymnastics Adventure! 🌟
Today, our Pūkeko Room Tamariki enjoyed an exciting visit to the Allan Brewster Leisure Centre for their final gymnastics session of the term. The children had been eagerly anticipating this special outing and were thrilled to participate in a variety of fun and challenging physical activities.
The session began with warm-up activities, including short runs, climbing on elevated equipment, jumping through rings, and returning to their groups. Children from each group took part simultaneously, demonstrating confidence and enthusiasm as they moved through the activities. They then explored other areas of the gym, where they enjoyed bouncing on the bouncy castle, jumping on trampolines, and playing with soft balls.
Throughout the session, the tamariki showed determination, resilience, and courage as they challenged themselves and supported their peers. These experiences helped strengthen their gross motor skills, coordination, balance, spatial awareness, confidence, and teamwork. The activities also encouraged healthy lifestyles and fostered a positive attitude towards physical activity.
A heartfelt thank you to Paks and the Auckland Council team for providing such a positive and supportive learning environment. After an action-packed morning, the children enjoyed lunch together before safely returning to Little Feet Childcare Centre.
We are incredibly proud of our tamariki for their participation, perseverance, and willingness to try new challenges. It was a wonderful day filled with learning, movement, laughter, and achievement! 😊

🌟 Pūkeko Room Tamariki Visit Mangere East Primary School 🌟
Our Pūkeko Room tamariki recently visited Māngere East Primary School as part of our Transition-to-School Programme.
Welcomed warmly by Whaea Peram, tamariki enjoyed a range of literacy activities including story time, word games, sentence building, and letter tracing. These experiences supported early reading, writing, communication, and fine motor development.
Children also had fun building with Lego, sharing a healthy snack, and exploring the classroom and outdoor learning spaces. These activities encouraged teamwork, creativity, confidence, and social skills while helping tamariki become familiar with the school environment.
We are incredibly proud of how respectful, organised, and engaged our tamariki were throughout the visit. It was a wonderful opportunity to build confidence and strengthen connections as they prepare for their school journey. 💙
