At Star Kids Childcare in Manurewa, we celebrated Matariki with a beautiful waiata (song) performance by our special visitors, Whanau and tamariki. Through singing together, children developed confidence, language skills, and a sense of belonging. It was a special way to honour Māori culture and celebrate this meaningful time of reflection and connection. ✨🌟

Star Kids Childcare in Manurewa, tamariki (children) explored Māori culture through puzzle activities. They showed manaakitanga (kindness) by helping each other and working together. This supported their problem-solving skills and understanding of te ao Māori (the Māori world).

At Star Kids Childcare in Manurewa, our babies enjoyed creating a fish collage to celebrate Waitī, the Matariki star connected to wai (freshwater). They pasted blue paper onto fish shapes, exploring creativity and developing fine motor skills. It was a fun way to learn about Matariki through hands-on play. 🐟💙✨

At Star Kids Childcare in Manurewa, our preschool tamariki celebrated Tupuānuku, the Matariki star connected to food grown in the soil, through a fun potato-printing activity.
Using potato stamps, the children created colourful artwork while exploring their creativity and learning about the whenua (land). It was a meaningful way to connect with the values of Matariki and appreciate where our kai comes from. 🌱✨
