Loved hearing from Belinda at about new research released from Scotland this week, perfectly timed with the International Day of Play.

Using nationally representative longitudinal data it provides the first evidence that early outdoor play predicts better mental health trajectories across childhood. The researchers say these findings highlight the need to incorporate outdoor play into the preventative public mental health agenda.

So wonderful when research validates what we intuitively know! Little ones need to play outside in nature.

How amazing is this???

Your milk transforms into personalised medicine for your baby.

When your baby is sick and they feed at the breast, their saliva flows backwards into your breast, and your body starts making antibodies to help them get better.

We want to keep our tamariki warm in winter – but big puffy jackets, snow suits or other bulky layers are unsafe to use in child restraints. The harness needs to be as close as possible to your child’s body to be effective in a crash and layers compress, making the harness loose.

Take jackets or other outer layers off before buckling your tamariki in. You can put a blanket over the top of the harness to keep pēpi warm, or for older tamariki you can pop their jacket on backwards over the top while they’re in the car.
