ARTSWEEK got off to a creative start at King’s College yesterday with our ‘Make Your Mark’ Virtual Reality experience 🎮🎨

Students and staff stepped inside a digital replica of the Memorial Building, using immersive painting and drawing tools to create their own artwork in a virtual world and quite literally make their mark.

It was a fitting way to begin a week celebrating creativity, expression, and innovation across the College.

If this is anything to go by, we’re excited to see what the rest of ARTSWEEK has in store… 👀

Last Friday, Art and Technology teacher Jo Quon and Alex Xu (Year 13, Peart) represented King’s at the Art Battle Auckland Grand Final at Eden Park, producing impressive original works in just 20 minutes alongside some of New Zealand’s leading artists. 🇳🇿

While they didn’t progress to the final round, being selected to compete at this level is an outstanding achievement in itself — and both represented the College with creativity, courage, and skill. 🎨 🙌

Ka pai tō mahi, Jo and Alex! 👑

Last week, students brought lunchtime to life with our first-ever Club Fair Display — a student-led initiative showcasing more than a dozen co-curricular clubs! 👑

Organised by the Student Advisory Panel as part of this term’s prefect-led Spirit Week, the Club Fair was a vibrant celebration of student life at King’s. From debating challenges with our Premier Advanced Debaters and robot mazes with VEX Robotics 🤖 to live music from student band Sasquatch 🎸, there was something for everyone.

The event showcased the incredible breadth of opportunities available at King’s and the rich, immersive culture our students help create.

A special thank you to student photographers Jamie Ye (Year 12, Greenbank) and Terrence Zhong (Year 13, Marsden) for capturing the atmosphere in this fantastic reel! 🔥
