What a week of fun, friendship, and creativity in Pūriri Rūma! 🌿
Our tamariki have been loving group play, including:
* Building and constructing together 🏗️
* Giving warm hugs to welcome friends 🤗
* Painting autumn leaves 🍂
* Exploring messy fun with cornflour gloop 🎨
* Helping put up artwork for our Māori wall 🖼️
* Designing our marae with their own ideas 🏡
*Tidying up together after play, helping each other and working as a team ✨
The best part? Everyone includes friends and kaiako in everything they do 💛 Kindness and friendship being the core.

📚 "My secret superpower is storytelling. Through stories, children explore emotions, ideas, cultures, and endless possibilities."
Meet Juliet, our Head Teacher and Curriculum Lead.
For Juliet, stories are about far more than books. They help children understand themselves, build empathy, celebrate different cultures, and make sense of the world around them.
Her passion for inclusion, neurodiversity, and creating a sense of belonging shines through in everything she does. Every child has a story worth telling, and Juliet loves helping tamariki find their voice.
What's a book or story your child asks for again and again? We'd love to hear it below. 👇

🎧 "Teaching can feel a bit like being a DJ. You read the room, notice the energy, and know when it's time to change the track."
Meet Juliet, our Head Teacher and Curriculum Lead in the Pūriri Room.
Juliet joined Sugartree Lane as a student teacher in 2019 and has grown alongside our tamariki and teaching team ever since. She has a real gift for tuning into children, following their interests, and adapting learning experiences to match the energy and needs of the day.
Whether it's a busy morning full of exploration or a quieter moment that calls for connection, Juliet knows that the best learning often happens when we listen first.
What do you think is the most important quality in a great teacher?
If you'd like to meet Juliet and see our learning spaces in action, we'd love to show you around.

🎶 Music is a big part of life at Sugartree Lane Preschool.
Every week our tamariki enjoy live music sessions with professional musicians, exploring rhythm, movement, storytelling, and the joy of making music together. From dancing and singing to discovering new instruments, these experiences help build confidence, creativity, language, and connection.
There’s something pretty special about seeing young children light up when the music begins. ❤️
