Carmel College Sport

Thank you and for the Student Coaching & Leadership Day that 18 of our students had the opportunity to attend today.

The year 11 and 12 students that were sent are our sports captains, senior members of the sports council and higher level of coaches.

The day was to learn about interactive coaching, developing their own and others leadership styles, the difference between a fixed/growth mindset and hearing about all the different pathways you can have in sport through AUT.

Congratulations to these three students who recently competed in College Sport Auckland Gymnastics Championships - Ava Samuels, Tara Young and Lydia Whittaker.

Carmel College is currently seeking a coach to lead our Senior Volleyball team for the 2027 season, starting with trials and squad training from late October 2026.

Carmel was offered a wonderful opportunity to take students to attend the official naming of the Silver Ferns netball team for the upcoming Commonwealth Games.

With such a large number of students to choose from, the lucky 10 students were selected as recognition for their recent participation and effort in trialling for the Player Development Programme (PDP) at Netball North Harbour.
