Congratulations to the KingsWay Extreme Year 6 basketball team.
We received a very complimentary email about the team this week. It said ‘ The team found themselves in a highly charged and, at times, aggressive environment. Despite this, your players remained composed, respectful and focused on the game itself.
What stood out most was their maturity. They played hard, competed with integrity and represented their school with pride. Even when faced with circumstances that could easily have unsettled the kids, they never lost sight of what youth sport should be about and the values of KingsWay School.

1st IX Girls Football. Our game against Westlake today was one of our strongest performances of the season. From start to finish we played with determination, greaf teamwork, and a lot of heart, and even when the pressure was on we never gave up. Our final score of 10-0 really showed how hard we worked and how well we connected as a team. A standout player was Natalia, who had an incredible game and scored six of our ten goals, lifting the whole team with her energy and skill. Each week we get stronger, more confident, and more connected, and today’s result proved just how far we’ve come. Well done girls.

Our basketball shooting clinics started last night — back to the grassroots and focusing on the right technique. It’s been fantastic to see our alumni giving back: Corey Gordon will be working with our Middle School players to help get those balls in the basket. 🏀⛹️⛹️♂️

What a great opportunity our Year 6s had yesterday listening to Paralympian Cam Leslie and Gareth Lynch, who spoke to the students about resilience and grit — what we can control and letting go of what we can’t. We were in awe of them as we watched footage of them swimming and playing wheelchair rugby. The big takeaway for me, was from Cam, “Don’t look at what you can’t do; concentrate on what you can do.” Both athletes were an inspiration, and we thank them for sharing their stories with us.

Be a “Coach’s Pet.”
Do what they say to the best of your ability.
Work as hard as you can with as much joy as possible, and do your best to listen, learn, and apply what your coach is teaching and telling you to do.

Why does school sport matter?
Because it’s about so much more than the game.
School sport helps young people build leadership, confidence and resilience, create lifelong friendships, and discover opportunities that shape their future. Through every competition, team huddle and shared experience, students learn skills that last far beyond the field.
At KingsWay, we celebrate the power of sport to inspire and influence our community.
Education through sport.

It’s wonderful to see so many young men honing their hockey skills while their Christian character shines through — both on the turf and in life. Grateful for the coaches and leaders guiding them with faith, humility, and integrity.
