MCL Rooms 1 & 5 proved that too many cooks in the kitchen can be a good thing!

Teamwork was the secret ingredient. There was mixing, measuring, stirring and a little bit of chaos, and a lot of delicious lemon cupcakes and pan-fried dumplings at the end! 🍋🧁🥟

Mentoring is happening next Thursday! We look forward to seeing all senior students and their whānau at their scheduled meetings.

The MRGS Careers Expo is being held on Friday June 26th Periods 2 - 4 in the hall.

This is an opportunity for students to meet with tertiary providers and employers to hear about the different study and career pathways that are available for them. All senior classes will have allocated times to visit the hall.

The expo will be also be open at morning tea for junior students to attend if they would like to.

MRGS wins the Education Perfect Maths Championship 🏆

In May, MRGS Maths students competed in the Education Perfect International Maths World Competition, solving problems, practising skills and answering 314,094 Maths questions.

MRGS ranked 1st globally among 1447 schools. This year, 56 students gained awards. An outstanding effort with two of our students in the top 10 worldwide - Tyler Hannah, 3rd and Annie Ma, 4th. Tyler and Annie won cash prizes, and EP will present them with badges and T-shirts.

Celebrating Schools’ Pride Week is an important way for school communities to affirm that rainbow students, staff and whānau belong.

We offer our heartfelt gratitude to all the amazing rainbow young people, staff and allies leading this change on the ground in our communities.

MRGS is working with Māia Centre for Social Justice and Education to develop the school's next strategic plan, which will guide our direction from 2027 onwards.

This survey is open to whānau and community members. It closes on 28 June 2026.

We want this plan to reflect what matters most to our school community, and that means hearing from you.
