RUN CLUB

We enjoyed another fantastic morning run through our local community, taking in the beautiful scenery and fresh air. It's a great way to start the day!

Run Club meets every Thursday morning at 7:30am by the bus bay. Runners of all abilities are welcome, and it's a fun, supportive group where everyone is encouraged to challenge themselves and enjoy being active.

We'd love to see some new faces join us next week!

Author Visit - Stu Duval

Stu Duval, a New Zealand author and illustrator, will visit BBI on Tuesday, 23 & Wednesday, 24 June to speak with students.

Stu will be selling and signing books in the library at lunchtime on Tuesday, 23 June and Wednesday, 24 June. Students will have the opportunity to meet Stu, purchase books, and have them personally signed. EFTPOS will be available.

BOYS HOCKEY
On Thursday 18th June, our two boys’ hockey teams travelled to Lloyd Elsmore Park to compete in the South Eastern Zone Hockey Tournament. Competing in a seven team round robin competition, both teams gave 100% effort throughout the day despite the mixed weather conditions of sunshine and rain. Their hard work and determination were rewarded with an outstanding 1st place finish for one team, and a strong 4th place finish for the other.
Congratulations to all of the players for their commitment, teamwork, and dedication at training in the lead up to the tournament. We are incredibly proud of your efforts and achievements! 🏑👏

GIRLS HOCKEY
Last Monday 15th June our two girls Hockey teams competed in the SEZ Hockey tournament at Lloyd Elsmore Hockey turf. Both teams played well and enjoyed competing against other schools in our zone. The yellow team finished third and the blue team finished fourth. WELL DONE 🏑🥅

WEEK 10
We have an action-packed week ahead! To kick off Reading Week, students can come to school on Monday dressed as their favourite book character. On Tuesday and Wednesday, New Zealand author and artist Stu Duval will be spending time with students, speaking about his career. On top of that, we have ICAS preparation classes starting, as well as several sporting and cultural events to look forward to.

ORIENTEERING
A wonderful Sunday morning at the Auckland Secondary Schools Rogaine at Woodhill Forest. Despite single-digit temperatures on arrival, the morning warmed up beautifully for a fantastic day of orienteering. Some impressive results from our BBI students — many of whom are preparing for AIMS Games next term — with a 3rd, 4th, and 6th place across the four events we are eligible to compete in as an Intermediate school.

BBI Run Club

It was a fresh and chilly start to Run Club this morning, but we soon warmed up and enjoyed the sunshine and beautiful scenery around Half Moon Bay Marina and Bucklands Beach.

Well done to all the students who came along this morning. It's a fantastic way to start the day, and it's great to see such an enthusiastic group of students getting involved.
