🇰🇮 Mauri from Kiribati!

Last week, ECG Executive Director Feagaimaali'i Sara-Jane Elika travelled to Kiribati to deliver the third governance and leadership workshop under the Partnerships for Aviation (P4A) Governance Programme, delivered in partnership with Mayfield Group and supported by the Australian Government through DFAT. ✈️

Building on the momentum of previous workshops in Tonga and Fiji, the Kiribati programme brought together aviation and tourism leaders, directors, and senior professionals committed to strengthening governance practices and organisational leadership across the Pacific.

Throughout the workshop, participants explored practical governance frameworks, board and leadership responsibilities, strategic decision-making, organisational accountability, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and the importance of embedding Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) principles into governance and operational practice.

One of the most rewarding aspects of the programme has been witnessing the growing network of Pacific leaders who are sharing experiences, learning from one another, and working collectively to strengthen the aviation sector across our region.

At ECG, we're about supporting organisations to build strong governance foundations, develop capable leaders, and create sustainable outcomes for future generations. The commitment, engagement, and insights shared by participants in Kiribati made this workshop another valuable step in the programme's regional journey.

A sincere Mauri and thank you to our partners, participants, and hosts in Kiribati for your hospitality, contributions, and dedication to strengthening leadership and governance across the Pacific.

Connecting Communities Through Creative Storytelling in Samoa

ECG team Leaupepe Ta'ala Ralph Elika and Joe Faga recently travelled to Samoa to support the Pacific Cyber Security Operational Network (PaCSON) Project.

Through community-focused storytelling and strategic communications, the project aims to make cyber security information more accessible, relevant and engaging for Pacific audiences. We're working closely with local stakeholders to reflect messages grounded in Pacific values, experiences, and realities.

One of the greatest strengths of regional initiatives like PaCSON is the opportunity to learn from one another. Bringing together government agencies, technical experts, communications professionals, and local communities is a passion for ECG through this media engagement.

We're are proud to support initiatives that strengthen regional cooperation, amplify Pacific voices, and contribute to a safer and more digitally resilient Pacific.

Fa'afetai tele lava to our Samoan hosts and partners for their hospitality, partnership, and shared commitment to creating positive outcomes for our Blue Pacific region.

This week, our team is working across the Pacific, continuing our commitment to strengthening governance, leadership, and sustainable development throughout the region.

In Vanuatu, CEO Leaupepe Ralph Elika and Senior Media & Communications Consultant Su’emalo Joe Farani Faga are working on a media Campaign Project with the Pacific Cyber Security Operational Network (PaCSON). This operational cyber security network consists of regional working-level cyber security experts and technical experts from eligible governments across the Pacific.

🇰🇮 In Kiribati, Feagaimaali'i Sara-Jane Elika, Executive Director, continues ECG's regional governance training through the Partnerships for Aviation (P4A) Governance Programme. Following successful governance workshops in Tonga and Fiji, Sara-Jane is now in Kiribati supporting aviation and tourism Directors and Senior Leaders to strengthen governance capability and strategic leadership. 🌟 Celebrating Business Excellence in Ōrākei 🌟

Last night, ECG had the privilege of attending the 2026 Ōrākei Local Board Business Awards, a fantastic event recognising the innovation, resilience, and success of businesses contributing to the growth and vibrancy of our local community.

While we didn't take home an award this year, we are incredibly proud to have been part of an evening that celebrated the achievements of so many outstanding organisations and leaders. Congratulations to all the finalists and winners whose dedication and hard work continue to strengthen the economic and social fabric of Tāmaki Makaurau.

For ECG, the evening was also an opportunity to connect with fellow business leaders, celebrate community success, and reflect on the impact that collaboration, innovation, and strong leadership have in shaping thriving communities.

As a proud Auckland-based consultancy working across Aotearoa New Zealand and the Pacific, we remain committed to supporting organisations through strategy, engagement, governance, research, and evaluation to create meaningful and lasting impact.

🇫🇯 Bula from Fiji!

Following a successful week in Tonga, ECG was honoured to continue our Pacific governance journey in Fiji, where Executive Director Feagaimaalii Sara-Jane Elika delivered governance and leadership training as part of the Partnerships for Aviation (P4A) programme in partnership with Mayfield and supported by the Australian Government through DFAT. ✈️

The Fiji workshops brought together aviation leaders and governance professionals from across the region, creating valuable opportunities for collaboration, learning, and shared leadership. Through engaging discussions and practical case studies, participants explored key governance responsibilities, strategic communications, crisis management, environmental stewardship, and Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) principles.

At ECG, we believe strong governance is the foundation of resilient organisations and sustainable communities. It was inspiring to see leaders committed to strengthening their governance capability and driving positive outcomes for the Pacific aviation sector.

Vinaka vakalevu to our partners, participants, and hosts for your warm hospitality and commitment to building a stronger Pacific together. We are proud to support leadership development that creates lasting impact across our region.

📚 The future of school governance is already here.

ECG is proud to contribute to the national conversation on culturally responsive leadership and governance through our latest feature article with Te Whakarōpūtanga Kaitiaki Kura o Aotearoa – NZ School Boards Association (NZSBA).

As Aotearoa New Zealand’s communities continue to evolve, effective governance must reflect the diversity, aspirations, and lived experiences of the students and whānau schools serve. Pacific, Māori and Asian communities are now central to many school communities, making cultural intelligence, inclusive leadership, and authentic engagement more important than ever.

We’re also excited to be part of the upcoming 2026 NZSBA Annual Members Conference, taking place 17–19 July at the Aotea Centre in Auckland. The conference brings together school board members, education leaders, and governance professionals from across the country for keynote presentations, workshops, masterclasses, and networking focused on strengthening school governance across Aotearoa.

At ECG, we believe strong governance goes beyond compliance — it is about building trust, strengthening relationships, and ensuring communities feel genuinely seen, heard, and included in decision-making.

Fa’afetai tele lava to Te Whakarōpūtanga Kaitiaki Kura o Aotearoa – NZSBA for the opportunity to contribute to this important kaupapa.
