Considering a career in the trades?
Free July Holiday Programmes are available for Year 12 and 13 students, offering a hands-on introduction to the electrical and plumbing industries.
Students will:
-Take part in practical workshop activities
-Learn about tools and safety practices
-Explore apprenticeship and career pathways
-Gain insights from industry professionals
-Places are limited, so early registration is encouraged.

The University of Auckland’s Enginuity Day is a free event designed to give students a hands-on introduction to engineering. Explore different engineering specialisations through interactive workshops, hear from inspiring speakers, and meet current students and alumni.

Some of our MHS students had a fantastic opportunity to participate in the 2026 Te Manu Tāiko Māori Student Experience Day at Massey University. It was a great learning experience that encouraged them to explore new opportunities, gain valuable insights into university life, and think about their future aspirations.

GirlBoss Awards 2026 applications are now open.
If you know a young woman aged 11–18 who is making a positive impact through leadership, STEM, innovation, the arts, community involvement, or enterprise, encourage her to apply. Students can nominate themselves or be nominated by a peer, teacher, or whānau member.
With over $15,000 in prizes available, this is a great opportunity to recognise outstanding young women in our communities.
