๐ŸŒธ We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all graduates, and especially acknowledge our TAO and Stand Tall students for their outstanding achievements.

It was a privilege to meet three proud Samoan and Tokelauan sisters who have successfully completed their Nursing qualifications. Their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to serving our communities are truly inspiring.

Temukisa is currently working in Renal Services at Counties Manukau, Ruta previously served at Wellington Hospital and is now working with Whฤnau ฤ€whina Plunket, while Lucy is contributing to the Mental Health sector in Counites Manukau.

We celebrate their success and recognise the important impact they will continue to make within our Pasifika communities and the wider health workforce. We wish them every blessing as they continue their professional journeys.

Meet Ngahuia ๐ŸŒฟ Ngahuia is our Te Ara Oranga Health Workforce Assistant, bringing warmth, compassion, and positive energy into the workplace every day โœจ She is passionate about supporting people to feel seen, heard, valued, and connected, while helping create an environment where hauora and wellbeing are at the centre of everything we do. For Ngahuia, hauora is more than just wellness โ€” it is about achieving balance across all aspects of life. She uses the Te Whare Tapa Whฤ model to help shape and guide her wellbeing journey, recognising the importance of nurturing taha tinana (physical wellbeing), taha hinengaro (mental and emotional wellbeing), taha whฤnau (family and social wellbeing), and taha wairua (spiritual wellbeing) ๐Ÿค Through her role, Ngahuia is dedicated to uplifting others, encouraging meaningful connections, promoting self-care, and supporting a workplace culture where people can grow, thrive, and feel a true sense of belonging ๐ŸŒฑ She believes that when wellbeing is nurtured holistically, individuals and communities become stronger together. 11/05/2026

โ€œKatie McLean (Ngฤi Te Rangi, Clann MacGilleEathain) is an Academic Mentor with Te Ara Oranga. Her background is interdisciplinary, spanning the sciences, health, social sciences, and the arts, and her research engages with te Tiriti and kawa whakaruruhau.

She is especially interested in how Western knowledge systems can complement traditional mฤtauranga, including how the sciences can sit alongside oral historiesโ€”each offering different ways of understanding where we come from and how we move forward.

For Katie, itโ€™s about weaving knowledge together to support identity, wellbeing, and future pathways.โ€
