🇸🇬 OLDHAM CUP | Day 02 Recap 🇻🇳🔥
Four intense rounds. Countless lessons. Two hard‑earned wins.
We’re growing with every debate - sharper, stronger, and more in sync. 💪
For Day 03, and we’re stepping in with excitement, determination, and full focus, picking up the first win of the morning ☀️

🇻🇳✈️ Oldham Cup 2026 | Our First International Trip Together
3AM alarms. Sleepy airport selfies. Suitcases heavier than our eye bags.
Today marks Team Vietnam’s “first international trip together” - and what a journey it’s already been.
Miss Lan (Team Manager), BM, and Youie started the day in Hanoi before sunrise, flying out at 3AM to head south and pick up Phan Anh and Alice in Ho Chi Minh City. From there, the full squad continued on to Singapore, where we reunited with Coach Rushdoon - finally all together and ready for Oldham Cup 2026 🇸🇬🔥
It’s moments like these: airport sprints, coffee-fueled briefings, chaotic boarding calls that remind us being on the national team is about more than just rounds. It’s about shared journeys, shared pressure, and shared pride in representing Vietnam🇻🇳 on the international stage.
And this is just the beginning.
We’re officially launching - a new segment where you get to travel with Team Vietnam as we compete at tournaments around the world. Beyond the prep rooms and podiums, we’ll be sharing the random, youthful, behind-the-scenes moments that make this experience unforgettable.

Wish us luck as we take the first steps on this road together 💪✨
🎤 Bite‑Size Battles #1 | Thiên‑Bảo on Opp ⚡️
On the motion “THW rather be lied to kindly than told a harsh truth”, Thiên‑Bảo takes the Opp bench with a clear stance:
A comforting lie doesn’t change reality - it only delays the damage.
⚖️ Framing:
This debate isn’t about what feels better now - it’s about what protects people in the long run. Thiên‑Bảo centers the round on “autonomy” and “long‑term welfare”
His core claim: “Without truth, there is no real choice - only the illusion of it.”
🧠 Kind lies may soften the moment, but they:
- Prevent people from recognizing real problems
- Undermine their ability to make informed decisions
- Create deeper harm when reality eventually surfaces
Harsh truth may hurt - but it allows people to adapt, improve, and grow.
Huge thank you to Coach Hyewon for her thoughtful feedback 💙
👀 We’ll be announcing the Audience Winner tomômrow - stay tuned!
Are you Team Prop or Team Opp? 👇
🎤 Bite‑Size Battles #1 | BM Lê on Prop ⚡
Our very first BiteSize Battles is officially live and BM Lê is stepping up on Propfor the April Fool challenge:
THW rather be lied to kindly than told a harsh truth.**
💬 BM Lê reframes the debate around “emotional well‑being and immediate functioning”. The question isn’t what’s ideal - it’s how people actually experience harm. In vulnerable moments, harsh truths can overwhelm, shut people down, and damage confidence.
Kind lies, while imperfect, can act as a “buffer” protecting stability and giving people space to cope before facing difficult realities. BM claimed: Not all truths empower. Sometimes timing and compassion matter more.
Are you on Prop with BM — or choosing the harsh truth? 👇Please watch till the end to listen to 👩🏫 Coach Hyewon’s Feedback:
⚖️🔥 Now it’s your turn: Are you on Prop with BM or would you take the harsh truth on Opp? Stay curious stay excited because Thien-Bao will deliver his side tomorrow, first thing in the a.m.
Drop your feedback for BM below 👇

🎤 Introducing: BITESIZE BATTLES⚡ | A New Monthly Series from WSDC Team Vietnam 🇻🇳
We’re excited to launch Bite‑Size Battles - a brand new monthly segment where our national team debaters go head‑to‑head on the same motion, taking Opp and Prop, delivering a short sample speech… and then receiving coach's feedback. 👀🔥
Bite‑Size Battles is our way of:
⚡Giving beginner debaters real sample speeches from WSDC Team Vietnam
⚡Showing how experienced debaters structure arguments in limited time
⚡Letting you see how coaches evaluate, critique, and improve arguments
⚡Breaking down what makes a speech strong and what makes it sharper
This isn’t just about who “wins.” It’s about how we think, how we build, and how we grow. 💡
And since it’s April… we’re starting with a fun (and slightly evil) motion:
🔥This House Would rather be lied to kindly than told a harsh truth.🔥
Oof. 👀 Are you on Prop - protecting feelings and preserving emotional safety? Or on Opp - defending honesty, autonomy, and long‑term trust?
Team Lie Kindly or Team Harsh Truth? Drop your side AND argument in the comments by 11:59PM Saturday April 4. 👇 Top 3 comments will receive special WSDC gifts or merch from Team Vietnam.
Welcome again to Bite‑Size Battles — small speeches, big thinking. Join Us as we will air the 1st battle between the 2 bestie BM and Thien-Bao this weekend!!!⚖️✨

📢 Marcb’s 1st Quarter Update — Team Vietnam 2026 🇻🇳
The first three months of 2026 have flown by, and what a start it’s been for WSDC Team Vietnam!
From intensive weekly training sessions to competing at key championships, our team has been pushing limits, sharpening arguments, and learning from every round. We’re proud of the milestones we’ve achieved so far this year - but we know this is just the beginning.
Behind every result you see is hours of prep, research, redos, feedback, and teamwork. Early mornings. Late nights. Countless practice motions. The standard keeps rising - and so do we.
While we’re grateful to share updates on our achievements and tournament runs, our eyes are firmly set on the bigger goal: the Road to Kenya 🇰🇪. Every training session, every scrimmage, every feedback circle is building toward representing Vietnam with excellence on the world stage.
We’re picking up speed. We’re charging forward. And we’re doing it together.
To everyone following our journey - thank you. Your support means more than you know. As we enter the next stretch of preparation, we hope you’ll continue cheering us on.
Let’s bring that Vietnamese spirit all the way to Kenya. 💪🔥
