Our World Adventurer Day Fun Day on Sunday, May 17th was all fun, at Finch Road SDA Church.

From warming up to physical games to mind games, and making new friends.

Thank you to our Branch Churches, Finch Road, Goon, Kranget, and Murunas for joining us this Sunday.

Let's continue to walk with Jesus.

This past Sabbath was World Adventurer Day! While for many of us it's been years since we were in Adventurers, or perhaps never at all, there's much we can learn from the standards that Adventurers are taught to uphold. So here are the ten qualities to be like Adventurers:

1. Be obedient
Live with integrity under authority, whether that’s God, the law or the commitments you’ve made.

2. Be pure
Be intentional about what you consume physically, mentally and digitally.

3. Be true
Be honest, even when it complicates things.

4. Be kind
In a culture quick to criticise, be someone who builds people up, choosing generosity over indifference.

5. Be respectful
Treat people well, especially when you disagree.

6. Be attentive
Be present. Put the phone down. Listen properly to people and to the quiet nudges of God.

7. Be helpful
Notice what needs doing and step in.

8. Be cheerful
Choose thankfulness over living in a state of frustration and negativity.

9. Be thoughtful
Slow down enough to consider how your words and actions land.

10. Be reverent
Make space to listen to God, worship and take your faith seriously in the middle of everyday life.

What have we been up to, you ask?

Well, we have been busy.
From Global Youth Day to preparation towards World Adventurer Day, we have done communtity services and we will continue to do so when called upon:
- Witnessing to Yabob Community
- Church cleanathon
- Witnessing at the main hospital through food donation to the main hospital mess.

World Adventurer Day 2026 is a special celebration dedicated to nurturing in our young Adventurers a joyful daily walk with Jesus, rooted in communion and trust. Centered on Jesus’ promise in John 8:12 — “I am the light of the world” — this day reminds children that Jesus is their close Friend, faithful Guide, and their forever Light.
