On January 27, 2026, Angeles University Foundationโ€“Integrated School (AUF-IS) made its Pamicalugud AcadFest debut, and immediately claimed the championship. In a stunning performance marked by teamwork and vigorous preparation, AUF-IS secured the top spot during the 42nd Pamicalugud. The event was held at the University Theatre and the Peter G. Nepomuceno (PGN) Auditorium of Holy Angel University (HAU), as part of the universityโ€™s annual celebration.

Bringing together schools all across Angeles City, elementary and high-school students alike competed in Pamicalugudโ€™s signature events. Namely, AcadFest, DanceFest, ChoraleFest, and SongFestโ€” each vying for excellence and the title of overall champion. As first time participants in the event, AUF-IS entered the competition as newcomers โ€” and by the end of the day, left as the champions.

Among the events was the AcadFest, a quiz bee demanding immense breadth of preparation and an expansive arsenal of knowledge โ€” lessons upon lessons distilled into such a small handful of questions. With limited opportunities to score, every question weighed heavily, each point magnified in determining the winner. The competition began with a neck-and-neck battle, teams separated by a mere two points. Tensions were high as no team was able to take the lead.

However, this stagnant momentum shifted in the succeeding round. During the average round, AUF-IS launched a sustained surge โ€” answering consecutively, and confidently taking the lead. With each correct response, AUF-IS widened the gap, the sight of victory drawing nearer while other teams straggled farther behind. By the final round, their relentless streak showed no sign of stopping, transforming an even match into an impressive lead that made the outcome increasingly certain.

Such tremendous success is the result of the dedication and hard work of the Senior High School Honors Society members: Grade 12 student Katherine Gale Magistrado from St. Martin, and Grade 11 students Katherine Anne Kristine Ayro from St. Mark, Eumilca Joy Lao and Conrad Alejandro Rosuelo from St. Matthew, and Sean Wyne De Los Reyes from St. John. Moreover, their victory was further made possible through the mentorship of Engr. Clarence Laxamana and Ms. Anna Marie Manansala.

Despite their first-time participating in the event, the Senior High School Honor Societyโ€™s recent triumph proves that experience alone does not define excellence. With yet another victory added to their growing list of achievements, the SHS Honors Society continues to demonstrate the fruits of their dedication and preparation, showing that whenever they compete, success follows.

With hearts united in service and compassion, the Angelenean community of AUF-Integrated School, together with the Youth Community Service Club and Integrated School Student Councils, successfully held โ€œPROJECT HAPPINESSโ€ for the Grade 6 pupils of Marisol Bliss Elementary School last February 19, 2026 at the AUF Santa Barbara Campus.

Through this meaningful community service initiative, the AUF-IS community generously donated pre-loved clothes, shoes, school bags, toys, and other useful items for a Free Ukay-Ukay, and as part of the Gifted to Give Project, they also shared essential goods such as canned goods, rice, milk, juice boxes, packaged noodles, and school supplies for the beneficiary school.

PROJECT HAPPINESS is more than a donation drive; it is a living testament to the Angelenean ACE values of Acting kindly, Choosing wisely, and Empowering daily. Indeed, when we are gifted, we are called to give. ๐Ÿ’™

This marks the third time AUF-IS participated in the said competition.

MSP-NCR partnered with Mapรบa University to organize the event, which was attended by Senior High School participants from different schools nationwide, including AUF-IS, who was represented by three participants, including: Justin Ken Iรฑigo Gones (12 - St. Damian), Ruffo Gabriel Razon (11 - St. Matthew), and Rhiann Joseff Tulio (11 - St. Matthew).

Their talents and knowledge were enlightened and guided by their coaches: Ms. Angelie Sotto, Engr. Clarence Laxamana, and Ms. Ila Maeve Yusi.

In the elimination round, the competition consisted of a written (pen-and-paper) problem-solving examination covering topics in Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Statistics, and Number Theory.

The Angelenean participants gave their all and proved that Angelenean excellence โ€“ pagiging โ€œMagalingโ€ โ€“ is not only showcased on campus, but also on the national stage.

The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception holds a moment for us to celebrate the great joy of Godโ€™s gift bestowed upon humanity through Mary. The response that all Christians must give to God's plan is what Mary said when she answered the angel Gabriel's greeting, "May it be done to me according to your word." - Luke 1:38

"We declare, pronounce, and define that the doctrine which holds that the most Blessed Virgin Mary, in the first instance of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege granted by Almighty God, in view of the merits of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the human race, was preserved free from all stain of original sin, is a doctrine revealed by God and therefore to be believed firmly and constantly by all the faithful.โ€ - Pope Pius IX, Ineffabilis Deus

Like the Blessed Virgin Mary, may we always say yes to God's plan in our lives.
