It develops when abnormal cells in the prostate gland grow uncontrollably and may spread to nearby tissues or other parts of the body if left untreated. Early detection remains essential in improving treatment outcomes and saving lives.

Through education, routine screening, and open conversations about men’s health, we can help promote early diagnosis and reduce the impact of this disease. Awareness empowers individuals to take preventive action and seek timely medical care.

For the past years, the laboratory was a room filled with various concepts, case studies and cell counts. Years of rigorous study brought everyone together in this moment of glory as the 3rd years stood taller, their silhouettes crisp in their new laboratory coats and pins.

A defining milestone in the journey of our future Medical Laboratory Scientists, the Donning of the White Coat: 4th Pinning and Rites celebrated their transition toward clinical training and professional practice. More than a ceremonial tradition, the event symbolized the acceptance of responsibility, a commitment to excellence and innovation, and a steadfast dedication to serving the healthcare community with competence, integrity, and compassion.

The program commenced with a solemn 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 and 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬, followed by the Program Proper, which began with an inspirational message from 𝐃𝐫. 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐠 𝐉𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐢 𝐌. 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧, Vice President for External Affairs. His words encouraged the students to embrace the values of professionalism, integrity, and service as they move closer to their future roles in healthcare. This was followed by the 𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝑴𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒈𝒆 of 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐨𝐞𝐥 𝐆. 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐬, 𝐑𝐌𝐓, 𝐑𝐍, Dean of the School of Medical Laboratory Sciences, and the 𝑰𝒏𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑴𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒈𝒆 of 𝐃𝐫. 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐨 𝐀. 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐫., 𝐌𝐇𝐀, President of St. Dominic College of Asia, who challenged the students to pursue excellence and innovation in the profession.

One of the most meaningful moments of the ceremony was the 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, signifying the transition of students toward greater professional accountability. This was followed by the 𝑱𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒚 𝑴𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒈𝒆, introduced by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐘𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚 and delivered by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐆𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐞 𝐔. 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐭𝐨, reflecting on the experiences, challenges, and aspirations that shaped their journey.

The highlight of the ceremony was the 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐭, where the students were formally vested on stage, symbolizing their readiness to embrace the responsibilities, ethics, and standards of the Medical Laboratory Science profession. This moment marked their transition from learners to future healthcare professionals committed to excellence in laboratory medicine.

The event was further enriched by a heartfelt 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐕𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨 and 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐠, honoring the support and sacrifices of those who have guided the students along the way. As the ceremony concluded with the closing remarks of 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐉𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐮 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨, the white coat stood not only as a symbol of achievement but also as a reminder of the values, responsibilities, and service that every future Medical Laboratory Scientist must uphold.
