The resurrection of Jesus is the Christian belief that God raised Jesus from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion, starting โ€“ or restoring โ€“ His exalted life as Christ and Lord. According to the New Testament writing, Jesus was firstborn from the dead, ushering in the Kingdom of God. He appeared to his disciples, calling the apostles to the Great Commission of forgiving sin and baptizing repenters, and ascended to Heaven.

Black Saturday, the day between Jesus Christ's crucifixion and His resurrection, marks the day of confusion and despair.

It was the day when the disciples of Christ were trying to wrap their heads around Jesus' murder and the treachery of Judas.

LET US TAKE A MOMENT OF SILENCE TO REFLECT ON HIS SACRIFICE.

On this solemn day of Good Friday, we reflect on the enduring love and compassion Jesus Christ showed to all. It's a day to meditate on the significance of His ultimate sacrifice and the hope it embodies for us all. May His life's message inspire, give strength, and comfort us.

Isaiah 53:5 - But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.

Maundy Thursday is a sacred day that commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with His apostles. It holds deep significance in Christian tradition as it marks the institution of the sacrament of the Eucharist (Holy Communion) and the priesthood.

The term "Maundy" originates from the Latin word "mandatum," which means commandment. This refers to Jesus' commandment to His disciples to love one another as He loved them. On this solemn day, Christians reflect on the profound act of love demonstrated by Jesus during the Last Supper.

During Maundy Thursday liturgies, a symbolic ritual often takes placeโ€”the washing of feet. This act symbolizes Christ's humility and servanthood, as He washed the feet of his disciples as a gesture of love and humility. Through this act, Jesus exemplified the importance of serving others with humility and compassion.

As we observe Maundy Thursday, let us reflect on the profound teachings and examples set forth by Jesus Christ. May we be inspired to embody His love, humility, and selflessness in our own lives, following his commandment to love one another as He loved us.

Today, on Holy Wednesday, also known as Spy Wednesday, we reflect on the solemn events leading up to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. This day is also known as "Silent Wednesday," as it marks a period of quiet contemplation before the intense events of Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.

The Gospel accounts remind us of the clandestine meeting between Judas Iscariot and the chief priests, where Judas agreed to betray Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. This act of betrayal, for such a seemingly insignificant sum, carries deep symbolism rooted in the Old Testament.

In the Old Testament, thirty pieces of silver were the price at which slaves were sold. Judas' decision to exchange Jesus for this amount underscores the profound message of Jesus' mission on Earth: to ransom humanity from the slavery of sin. By accepting thirty pieces of silver, Judas unwittingly fulfills a prophecy and highlights the redemptive purpose of Jesus' sacrifice.

As we contemplate the events of Spy Wednesday, let us remember the sacrifice of Jesus and the significance of his betrayal. May this day serve as a reminder of the immense love and mercy of our Savior, who willingly endured betrayal and suffering for the sake of our salvation. ๐Ÿ™

The recently concluded 14th Linggo Ng Kabataan, hosted by the City of Bago from November 6 to 10, 2023, proved to be a pivotal platform for fostering leadership skills among the city's youth. Themed "Healthy, Nourished, Sheltered, Ensuring the Right to Life for All," the five-day event, organized by the City Planning and Development Office, City Social Welfare and Development Office, and Department of Education, placed leadership development at the forefront of its agenda.

Student leaders from the Schools Division of Bago City actively participated in the event, with the Division Federation of Supreme Secondary Learner Government proudly unfurling its banner during youth week. Congratulations are extended to the officers who played a vital role in the Linggo ng Kabataan celebration.

This immersive experience was aligned with the Celebration of National Childrenโ€™s Month 2023, where elected and appointed Boy and Girl Officials took charge of various city offices, contributing to the development of Bagonhons. Each officer had a counterpart to whom they explained the details and operation of their respective departments.

Beyond formal education, the week-long venture included activities that instilled relevant values, such as mangrove seedling preparation, team-building activities, and more. It provided a unique opportunity for these young leaders to witness firsthand the intricacies of the government in action, fostering a deeper understanding of its functioning.

As the event concludes, the hope is that the knowledge gained and moments witnessed during Linggo Ng Kabataan 2023 will be forever engraved in the hearts and minds of the student leaders. May they continue to progress as capable individuals, pushing their fellow citizens towards progress for the city of Bago.
