STORY MAG CONTEST
Contest mechanics and criteria

1. Participants must all be bona fide learner of the Division of Bago City, Public or Private
School.

2. They must represent their district as follows:
Elementary Category
Junior High Category
District 1
District 5A
District 2
District 5B
District 3
Private JHS
District 4
*ALSPrivate ES

3. Age of participants must NOT be more than 15 years old on the day of the awarding.

4. Photocopy of Birth certificate/Baptismal, photocopy of school ID and signed Parent’s
Consent Form of all the members of the group must be presented to the Screening
Committee on November 10, 2023, 1:00 – 5:00 PM.

5. The masterpiece must be relevant to the NCM theme, “Healthy, nourished, sheltered:
Ensuring the right to life for all”.

6. Format must be in A4 Size per page.
7. Minimum of Three (3) Pages. Maximum of Six (6) Pages.

8. Size of letters (fonts/typeface) must be appropriate to the readers and easy to read.

9. Provide your output digitally as PDF format along with the timelapse video of the contestant.

10.All contestants will receive medals and winners will be rewarded.

Criteria for Judging

Content and Relevance to the Theme – 20%
The content is relevant to the theme and it adheres to the guidelines of the competition.

Technical Qualities – 20%
Clear subject in photo, good positioning, framed correctly, no distracting elements that
could have been avoided.

Originality – 20%
Details of the magazine are well-organized, with unified meaning, interesting, different,
unique approach to the assignment.

Creativity – 20%
Output was taken from a creative vantage point.

Overall Impression – 20%
The magazine leaves a “Wow Factor” and the magazine attracted attention and conjured a feeling.

𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐬

𝑷𝒖𝒃𝒍𝒊𝒄 𝑺𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 is one of the critical skills of a student leader who can inspire people and fellow learners. This competition requires contestants to express their creative ideas in a clear and captivating manner.

1. The Public Speaking Competition will be held face-to-face during the 2023 31st National Children’s Month (NCM) celebration at MYTMCCC, Bago City, on November 15, 2023 10 o’ clock in the morning.

2. Contestants must be a registered participant to the National Children’s Month celebration and a bona fide learner of the Division of Bago City. He/she must be endorsed by the School Principal with recommending approval of the PSDS/s.

3. The competition will be divided into two (2) categories with only one participant per District (District A & B combined). Namely:
A. Elementary category: District 1, District 2, District 3, District 4, and Private elementary
B. Secondary category: District 5A, District 5B, and Private JHS

4. The contestants should use English language as the medium for their piece and must be in business attire with the OFFICIAL CHILDREN’S MONTH T-SHIRT.

5. There will only be one round for the competition where the contestants will perform live in front of the judges and the audience.

6. The speech or the piece must be relevant to the NCM theme, “Healthy, nourished, sheltered: Ensuring the right to life for all”.

7. Delivery and presentation should not be less than 3 minutes and not more than 5 minutes. If the contestant delivers less than the minimum and more than the maximum time limit, a 2-point deduction will be applied automatically to the contestant’s overall score.

8. Time starts on the speaker’s first word or conspicuous gesture which is part of the presentation. Timing mechanics will be discussed in details by the official timekeeper during the orientation before the competition.

9. The speaking line up will be determined through a fishbowl method and names to be drawn before the competition takes place.

10. Participants must be at the holding area at least 45 minutes before the competition for technical checks and final instruction. For those who failed to be present with the given grace period of 15 minutes after the call time is subject to disqualification.

11. The use of script, teleprompters and other similar visual guides are not allowed during the competition proper. Violation is a ground for disqualification.

12. The Technical Working Group of the NCM shall appoint three judges for the competition. The decisions of the judges are final and irrevocable.

- Body language, voice, and appearance complements which show appropriateness, clarity, and confidence.

Language: 25%
- Use of correct grammar, diction, pronunciation, and enunciation.

Audience Impact: 5%

“𝑻𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒐𝒈 𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝑩𝒂𝒈𝒐𝒏𝒉𝒐𝒏” Contest highlights healthy Filipino children’s ability to sing and advocate filipino song artists. This event will spotlight Original Pilipino Music (OPM) of which are original musical work by Filipino artists, whether the lyrics are in Pilipino, English or other language, popularized in 2010-present.

1. Participants must be a bona fide learner of the Division of Bago City, Public or Private School.
2. He/She must represent his or her district as follows:
Elementary Category Junior High Category
District 1 District 5A
District 2 District 5B
District 3 Private JHS
District 4 *ALS
Private ES

3. Age of participants must NOT be more than 15 years old on the day of the performance.

4. Birth certificate, school ID and signed Parent’s Consent Form must be presented to the Screening Committee 1-hour before the perfromance.

5. The song must be Three (3) to five (5) minutes only.

6. Exceeding the maximum time limit or not meeting the minimum time limit will mean a 2-point deduction from an entry’s score.

7. Medley arrangement is not allowed.

8. A Short description of the song’s composition and its lyrics must be provided and submitted online a day before the start of the program.

9. Participants must be in Smart Casual Attire during the performance.

10. Participants can use a minus one or accompanied by any instruments.

11. The decisions of the judges are final and irrevocable.

HIPHOP DANCE SHOWDOWN
Contest mechanics and criteria

This Hip-hop dance Showdown is a blend of different styles, a fusion of street dance disciplines and cultural interpretations from around the world. The most real routines showcase a variety of hip-hop dance styles, signature moves and choreography conveying the character of energy of the street. With every generation of new dancers, the hip-hop dance evolves and continues to transform itself. A hip-hop dance routine to be performed shall incorporate the look, music, attitude, posture and street dance style to make it uniquely hip-hop.

1. Participants must all be bona fide learner of the Division of Bago City, Public or Private School.

2. They must represent their district as follows:
Elementary Category Junior High Category
District 1 District 5A
District 2 District 5B
District 3 Private JHS
District 4 *ALS
Private ES

3. Age of participants must NOT be more than 15 years old on the day of the performance.

4. Birth certificate, school ID and signed Parents Consent Form of all the members of the group must be presented to the Screening Committee 2-hours before the performance.

5. The group may be consisting of all females, all males or a combination of both with a minimum of eight (8) to a maximum of ten (10) members.

6. Music to be used in the performance must be appropriate and suitable for any age. Music remix is allowed.

7. Performance must be 3-5 minutes only including entrance and exit.

8. Every ten (10) seconds exceeding the time limit shall mean a 1-point deduction to the total score.

9. The costume must be appropriate to the learners. The costume should not hinder the movements of the dancers, must be simple and not revealing.

10. Use of body oils, liquids and other substances or effects that may affect the dry surface of the performance area is prohibited.

11. Use of pyrotechnics is strictly prohibited.

12. The judges' decision is final and irrevocable.

(Staging, spacing formations, showmanship, projection stabilization and variety of Hip-Hop routines, entertainment value, crowd appeal)

Choreography and

(Dance arrangement and concept, incorporating unique, original, and creative moves)

(Musicality, beat techniques, timing, synchronization, moves related to the music)
