​Mario Oriana III, a member of the University of the Cordilleras College of Criminal Justice Education (UC CCJE) Forensic Science Department and the UC Speech and Debate Society (SPADES), is proving that the analytical mind thrives just as powerfully at the podium. The LSFS proudly recognizes Mario as he has successfully been part of multiple prestigious, open debate competitions nationwide.

🎤 𝟭𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 – held from May 22–24, 2026 at San Beda University Manila, organized by the San Beda Debate Society. Oriana's team topped 8 amongst 26 competing teams which advanced them to the elimination round. They concluded their run as an Open Quarterfinalist in a highly competitive pool of participants.

🎤 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘆𝗮𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 – held from March 13–15 at the Ateneo de Cebu in Mandaue City and organized through the Cebu Inter-school Debating Association. Oriana broke as an adjudicator after five preliminary rounds. He then served as an Open Semifinals Judge and a High School Grand Finals Judge.

🎤 𝗖𝗜𝗗𝗔 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝘂𝗽 – held on February 21–22, 2026, he served as a Core Adjudication Panel as Chief Adjudicator where he contributed to motion crafting, oversaw adjudication standards and judge allocations across 31 rooms and approximately 50 judges.

🎤 𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆’𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 – held from February 9–11, 2026 at Saint Mary’s University and hosted by the SMU Student Central Council in partnership with the SMU Debate Society. Serving as an invited adjudicator for the debate competition, extemporaneous speech contest, and Daglian Talumpati, he judged all elimination and final rounds, co-crafted motions alongside fellow invited judges, assisted in tournament logistics, and delivered a lecture emphasizing not only how to debate effectively, but also the broader importance of discourse and critical engagement.

From analyzing physical evidence to dissecting complex arguments, Mario embodies the perfect blend of scientific rigor and eloquent advocacy. Join us in celebrating a future forensic professional who is already mastering the art of the forum!

​Last May 23, 2026, the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) successfully conducted its College Orientation, marking the official commencement of the 3rd trimester A.Y. 2025-2026.
