The beautiful City of Baguio, also known as the Summer Capital of the Philippines, was just one of the 31 tiny settlements, or rancherias, established around 1846 by the early Spanish colonizers in the pine-covered highlands of the Benguet province. Back then, the rancheria that would eventually become Baguio City was called Kafagway, a village inhabited by the Kankana-ey and Ibaloi tribes of the Cordilleras.

The American architect and urban planner Daniel H. Burnham designed the city. The city got its name, however, from bag-iw meaning “moss” in Ibaloi – the native tongue of the Benguet province.
On September 1, 1909, the Americans declared Baguio a chartered city and the Summer Capital of the Philippines. During the American Occupation, quite a few Baguio natives acquired a taste for country songs, cowboy hats, and boots. They also gained a command of the English language. Baguio City, in many ways, became westernized under American rule and even resembled an idyllic American town.

Happy Baguio Day to all the residents and everyone who holds this beautiful city close to their hearts!

Good day, valued clients!

As per BENECO, there's a scheduled power interruption on March 31, 2023 (Friday). A lot of areas in Baguio and La trinidad are affected.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate walk-in clients for the moment as we are already fully booked until July 2023.

You may try scouting for other co-working hubs.

Thank you, and have a good one!

HAPPY CORDILLERA DAY!

September 13 marks the commemoration of the 1986 Sipat Peace Talks between the Government under then President Corazon Aquino and the Cordillera People’s Liberation Army under the leadership of the former rebel priest Conrado “Ka Ambo” Balweg. The 1986 Sipat Peace Talks happened in Mount Data Hotel in Bauko Mountain Province.

“Sipat” which means in the local dialect in the Cordillera as “peace agreement”. This is an indigenous practice in the Cordillera region which is initially done before a peace pact between tribes are forged.
The 1986 Sipat agreement was the initial process towards peace between the government and the CPLA. The Sipat peace talks ultimately led to the creation of the Cordillera Administrative region by virtue of Executive Order No. 220 issued on July 15, 1986.
