OJT: The Next Step
On May 10, 2026, students from the School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA) at Saint Louis University (SLU) gathered at the Prince Bernhard Gym for the Hard Hat and Pinning Ceremony. Themed โGrounding Theory in Ethical Practice,โ this marked the moment we transitioned from students to future professionals.
For Mining Engineering students especially, the day was a win over the stereotypes often linked to the course. It served as a reminder that our field is the backbone of modern life and that we should be proud of our chosen path.
The ceremony was emotional as seeing everyone get pinned in front of their families made the long nights and difficult exams feel worth it. Students shared how far they have come to prove that they have grown from just going with the flow into engineers with a real purpose. It was a powerful moment of realizing that every struggle brought us to this next step of our journey.
By the time we took our professional oath, it was clear we were ready to prove that industries like mining and environmental care can go hand in hand. We are heading into our internships carrying values like respect and genuine concern for others into the workplace. We left the gym ready to show that our careers are ultimately about helping people and making a difference not just in our country but globally.

A Night in Paradise: The Pantropicore Afterglow
The lights were glowing, the rhythm was right, and the vibes were unmatched, Ore & Shore was a total wave for everyone who joined us!
Starway Hotel transformed into our own little paradise where the music hit just right and every moment flowed effortlessly.
It was a night for us to simply be together, celebrate one another, and feel that "Pantropiko" magic in our hearts.
Whether you were dancing or making new friends, bawat araw mas sumasaya when our community vibes as one. Looking back on the laughter and the moments, this night also served as a special heartbeat for our graduating seniors. Sharing these final summer moments with the 4th-year students made the energy even more meaningful and unforgettable.
Thank you to everyone who attended for bringing the energy and the heart to enjoy with one another. As we move forward, let us keep Going Further, Digging Deeper, and Shining As Ever!
