A HUGE DISCOVERY IN SURIGAO DEL SUR 🌸

A rare Rafflesia—one of the world’s largest and most elusive flowering plants—has just been discovered inside the AlaBuyCarPanSip Watershed Forest Reserve in Cantilan.

Measuring an impressive 49 cm in diameter, this incredible bloom was found thriving in a dense, protected forest ecosystem. While experts are still working to identify the exact species, the DENR has already stepped in to secure and monitor the site to protect this threatened botanical wonder.

BALER, Aurora — In a remarkable discovery, researchers from the Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) have documented a rare Rafflesia lagascae bloom in the Sierra Madre range within the Aurora Memorial National Park in Maria Aurora, Aurora.
