Ever wonder what a week in the life of an SLU Psychology Instructor actually looks like?
Come join the house tour ๐ with Sir Elbert, where teaching is treated like a story quest ๐ฎ from the first, second, and maybe third floor! From the moment you log onto the server ๐พ, lectures are leveled up using gamified slides packed with hidden video game easter eggs and cinematic movie references that keep everyone locked ๐in. This (unintelligible) week (which is actually a month ๐) includes major offline side quests as if you were isekaid irl ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ, from diving into the unforgettable energy of the Psyche Night ๐ชฉ๐บ๐party to unlocking creative skills at the Arts and Crafts ๐จ๐๏ธโ๏ธservice training.
Behind the scenes, itโs all balanced out by crucial departmental meetings... and the ultimate co-op loot drop ๐ฆ๐: a well-deserved faculty dinner ๐ฑ๐ฅ๐ดand outing to celebrate surviving the week.
Teaching is all about balancing the digital space with real-world connections, showing that learning psychology goes way beyond the classroom and turns into a shared experience you'll carry for life ๐

Last April 27โ28, four of our esteemed faculty members successfully facilitated workshops for PAPJA 2026, centered on the theme "Futurescaping Psychology: Our Role in Attaining the Sustainable Development Goals."
Sir Asher Escaรฑo Bayot presented his workshop, โ๐๐ง๐ค๐ข ๐๐ช๐ข๐๐๐ง๐จ ๐ฉ๐ค ๐๐๐ง๐ง๐๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐๐จ: ๐๐๐ ๐ผ๐ง๐ฉ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ ๐ค๐ ๐ฟ๐๐ฉ๐ ๐๐ฉ๐ค๐ง๐ฎ๐ฉ๐๐ก๐ก๐๐ฃ๐โ orienting students toward translating quantitative findings into clear, engaging, honest, and humanly understandable narratives (SDG 4: Quality Education).
Maโam Loraine Cerezo conducted โ๐๐ช๐ง๐ฉ๐ช๐ง๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐ฃ๐ฃ๐๐ง ๐พ๐๐๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ค๐ช๐๐ ๐๐ก๐๐ฎ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐ก๐-๐พ๐ค๐ข๐ฅ๐๐จ๐จ๐๐ค๐ฃ,โ inviting students to move beyond the concept of the inner child and into its living reality: a space of openness, imagination, and unguarded joy. The session offered a gentle reminder that the inner child is not merely a site of wounds, but also a keeper of hopes and a dreamer of futures still waiting to unfold (SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education).
๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ฏ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐พ๐๐๐-๐๐๐๐๐," engaging participants in a series of guided movement explorations, meditative dance, and improvisation designed to bridge the gap between physical vitality and emotional regulation (SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being).
๐พ๐๐๐-๐๐๐๐๐,โ offering valuable insights on slowing down, being present, creating from what already exists, and sharing kindness through something handmade. Inspired by Positive Psychology, students experienced joy, focus, connection, meaning, and completion through the creation of these postcards (SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production).
The success of these workshops stands as a testament to the dedication and expertise of our faculty, whose active participation underscores the department's commitment to advancing the field of psychology in the context of global sustainability. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Sir Asher, Maโam Loraine, Maโam Lovan, and Maโam Sigrid for their remarkable contributions to PAPJA 2026.
By bridging the gap between theory and the Sustainable Development Goals, our faculty members have represented our institution with distinction and inspired the next generation of practitioners to lead with purpose and innovation. Their involvement serves as a proud reminder of the vital role our faculty plays in shaping a more resilient and mindful future for all.

Performing before a massive audience of 7,300 students and chaperones at the SMX Convention Center, the department, through "Trans and Dance," achieved a historic milestone: reaching the finals for the first time and placing in the top nine of this highly competitive contest, leaving a legacy of passion and inspiration for those who follow.
Their performance went beyond choreography; it became a powerful narrative expressed through movement. Each step, gesture, and formation carried meaning, allowing the audience to feel emotions that words often fail to capture. The group transformed the stage into a shared emotional space, reminding everyone present that psychology is not only explored through theories and research, but also through lived and embodied experiences.
Reaching the finals is already a powerful achievement, but more than that, โTrans and Danceโ embodied what it means to communicate emotions beyond words, bridging science and art, as well as advocacy, in a way that resonated deeply with everyone present.
