In observance of the 128th Independence Day of the Philippines, the Freedom, Rights and Responsibility Program was conducted on June 12, 2026, as part of the University’s Rights2LIFE Program.

The event featured Atty. Cheryl L. Daytec-Yañgot, Regional Director of the Department of Migrant Workers–Cordillera Administrative Region (DMW-CAR), as guest speaker. She led a discussion on the importance of restoring public trust in legal and government institutions.

UC commends the achievements of its debate contingents at the CIDA Novice Cup, an online inter-school tournament hosted by the Cebu Inter-school Debating Association in February 2026.

Competing against 84 teams from universities nationwide, the UC team demonstrated exceptional skill, strategy, and teamwork throughout the competition.

UC, composed of Crisjo B. Cadsap (Juris Doctor) and Sheldan B. Escano (BS Electronics Engineering), qualified as Open Quarter Finalists, showcasing their analytical abilities and competitive spirit on the national stage.

Mario A. Oriana III (BS Forensic Science) represented UC on the Core Adjudication Panel as Chief Adjudicator, playing a crucial role in crafting motions, overseeing judge allocations, adjudicating multiple rounds, and ensuring the smooth ex*****on of the tournament.

The University of the Cordilleras recognizes the achievement of its debate representative at the 10th Philippine Debate Open, held in May 2026 at San Beda University in Mendiola, Manila.

Representing UC in a composite team, Mario A. Oriana III, Bachelor of Forensic Science student, emerged as Open Quarter Finalist among 26 participating teams nationwide. The team was among the top-performing contingents of the competition.

Known as one of the country’s longstanding university debate tournaments, Philippine Debate Open gathered debaters from different institutions in a highly competitive Asian Parliamentary format. Throughout the tournament, the team displayed strong collaboration, argumentation, and adaptability across multiple rounds of competition.

Students from the University of the Cordilleras College of Information Technology and Computer Science made history as the first Philippine team to finish in the Top 3 of the ERPsim World Cup during the ERPsim International Competition 2026 held on June 11.

The team, composed of four BS Information Technology major in Enterprise Resource Planning (BSIT-ERP) students and one BS Computer Science student, earned their place in the global competition after excelling in the ERPsim Asia Pacific and China (APAC) Regional Competition against 25 universities from across Asia.

Representing the Philippines on the world stage, the UC delegation competed alongside teams from Finland, Mexico, Canada, Slovenia, Chile, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, Vietnam, and other countries. The competition, conducted online through Zoom and supported by SAP, challenged participants to make strategic and data-driven decisions within a realistic enterprise simulation environment.

The achievement highlights UC’s commitment to producing globally competitive graduates through industry-aligned education and hands-on learning experiences. The team’s success was supported by intensive training sessions and simulation exercises conducted in the UC CITCS laboratories, enabling students to apply classroom concepts to real-world business scenarios.
