Hubbers, nakagamit ba kayo ng manila paper?

It's Father's Day today, AND the summer solstice โ˜€๏ธ Keep shining, dads ๐Ÿ˜Žโœจ๏ธ

โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒ TODAY IS THE JUNE SOLSTICE!

At 4:24 PM (Philippine Time) today, the Earth reaches a special point in its journey around the Sun called the June Solstice.

What does this mean for us in the Philippines?

๐ŸŒž We experience one of the longest days of the year.
๐ŸŒž The Sun appears higher in the sky at noon.
๐ŸŒž Daylight lasts a little longer than usual, while the night is slightly shorter.

Although it is often called the "Summer Solstice" in many countries, the Philippines does not have four seasons like temperate countries. Instead, this event is simply an astronomical marker showing that the Sun has reached its northernmost position in the sky.

Did you know? ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

Because the Philippines is close to the Equator, the difference between our longest and shortest days is small. Even during the June Solstice, we receive about 13 hours of daylight, compared to some countries farther north that can experience up to 18 hours of daylight!

So if you step outside today, take a moment to notice the bright afternoon sky and appreciate our planet's journey around the Sun. โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒŽ

Waling-waling (Vanda sanderiana) has just been declared as our National Orchid ๐Ÿค๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿ’œ๐ŸคŽ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

The Senate has approved on third and final reading the bill declaring Waling-waling (๐˜๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ๐˜ข ๐˜ด๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ข) as the ๐—ก๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ข๐—ฟ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ฑ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฃ๐—ต๐—ถ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ฝ๐—ฝ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜€.

Known as the "Queen of Philippine Orchids," this stunning species found only in Mindanao is a living symbol of the country's extraordinary floral diversity and forest heritage.

As the bill moves toward final enactment, this milestone reflects something bigger: a growing national pride in our native flora, and a shared commitment to protecting them for generations to come.
