May 25, 2026 – USTP Balubal Campus successfully conducted an online lecture on Fundamental Drone Operations and UAV-Based Field Applications in Precision Agriculture.

The webinar featured Dr. Roberto Rodriguez III, Assistant Professor from the Department of Aeronautical Science at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo, as the resource speaker. Through his vast expertise in drone operations and aerial technologies, Dr. Rodriguez shared valuable insights on the principles of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operations and their practical applications in modern agricultural systems.

Participants appreciated how drone technology supports precision agriculture through improved field monitoring, efficient resource management, and data-driven decision-making that contribute to more sustainable and productive farming practices. Discussions also introduced participants to emerging innovations that continue to transform the agricultural sector.

The event was attended by members of the USTP community and interested participants who actively engaged in the discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions throughout the lecture. The successful conduct of the webinar reflects USTP Balubal’s continued efforts to provide globally relevant learning opportunities and strengthen international academic linkages for the advancement of teaching, learning, and curriculum development.

Through initiatives such as this, Balubal campus remains steadfast in preparing learners and professionals to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven and globally connected agricultural landscape.
