Classes are suspended today, June 8, 2026

[CLASS SUSPENSION] Following the earthquake felt this morning, Mayor Rolando A. Uy has ordered the suspension of classes from Preschool to Grade 6 in all public and private schools in Cagayan de Oro City today, June 8, 2026.

For the secondary level, school heads are given the discretion to decide based on their assessment.

Teachers, parents, and students are advised to monitor official announcements from the City Government of Cagayan de Oro for further updates.

An Executive Order formalizing the class suspension will follow.

Today, we celebrate the successful culmination of the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Program conducted from May 6, 2026 to June 2, 2026. This program was designed to help learners strengthen foundational skills in reading, writing, and numeracy, bridge learning gaps, and provide additional academic support to ensure that no learner is left behind.
