Pantuyan National High School actively participated in the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) today, joining schools and institutions across the country in strengthening disaster preparedness and promoting a culture of safety.

Teachers, staff, and students successfully carried out the "Duck, Cover, and Hold" procedure and orderly evacuated to designated safe areas following the simulated earthquake scenario. The drill emphasized the importance of preparedness, presence of mind, and coordinated action during emergencies.

Through activities like this, the school continues to reinforce disaster risk reduction awareness and build resilience among learners and personnel, ensuring that everyone is equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively when disasters strike.

The school has officially moved into the next phase of its opening activities with the implementation of comprehensive baseline diagnostic assessments aimed at addressing the holistic needs of learners.

Physical well-being and demographic data were gathered through health assessments and screening conducted under the Brigada Learners Health Assessment, led by the School Nurse, Ma’am Evangeline P. Hernaez, ensuring that students’ health conditions are properly recorded and monitored for appropriate support and intervention.

In parallel, the Guidance Office conducted RIASEC and HEADSS assessments to better understand students’ vocational interests, personality inclinations, and psychosocial well-being. These tools are intended to guide career orientation programs and support early identification of students who may need psychosocial assistance.

On the academic front, teachers administered baseline assessments, including the Philippine Informal Reading Inventory (PHIL-IRI) and RMA literacy and numeracy tests, to determine students’ reading proficiency and foundational skills. The results will serve as a basis for instructional planning and targeted learning interventions.

School officials emphasized that the initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to data-driven and learner-centered education, ensuring that both academic instruction and student support services are aligned with learners’ needs from the very beginning of the school year.

A spirited display of energy, determination, and athletic potential filled the campus this afternoon as the school conducted sports tryouts aimed at identifying new talents for various athletic teams.

Students from different grade levels participated in skill-based assessments showcasing speed, strength, agility, and teamwork. Coaches and evaluators closely monitored performances to ensure fair selection based on ability, discipline, and potential.

School officials emphasized that the tryouts are part of the institution’s commitment to holistic development, promoting not only academic excellence but also physical fitness and character formation through sports.

The activity concluded with optimism as promising talents emerged, signaling a strong foundation for upcoming school-based competitions and athletic events.

A timely call for awareness, care, and compassion filled the campus this morning as the school successfully conducted a Mental Health Symposium, bringing together students and facilitators to discuss the importance of emotional well-being and psychological resilience in academic life.

The symposium highlighted pressing concerns on stress management, anxiety, and the challenges students face in balancing academic demands and personal life. Resource speakers emphasized that mental health is just as important as physical health, encouraging learners to recognize early signs of emotional distress and to seek help when needed.

Interactive discussions and reflective activities allowed students to openly engage with the topic, fostering a safe space where thoughts and feelings were acknowledged without judgment. Participants were also introduced to practical coping strategies, including mindfulness, proper time management, and building strong support systems.

The symposium concluded with a strong message of hope and resilience, reminding everyone that seeking help is a sign of strength and that no student should face their struggles alone.

A dynamic wave of student participation and leadership unfolded this afternoon as the school successfully conducted the organization of school clubs alongside the election of classroom officers, marking a key highlight of the Opening Black Activities.

Learners actively engaged in forming clubs aligned with their interests and talents, opening avenues for collaboration, creativity, and co-curricular growth. At the same time, classroom elections were held across all sections, giving students the opportunity to democratically select officers who will serve as leaders and representatives for the school year.

The process was closely supervised by teachers to ensure fairness, order, and transparency. Students participated with enthusiasm and seriousness, as candidates expressed their platforms and voters carefully chose peers they believe can uphold unity, discipline, and responsibility within their classes.

A renewed focus on discipline, awareness, and shared responsibility marked the continuation of the student orientation this morning, as learners were further briefed on important Department of Education (DepEd) orders, school policies, rules, and regulations designed to guide their academic journey and behavior within the institution.

Following yesterday’s orientation, the session continued seamlessly, reinforcing key reminders on proper conduct, attendance, academic integrity, and student responsibilities. The discussion aimed to ensure that students not only understand the rules but also appreciate their role in maintaining a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.

School officials emphasized that the policies are not merely restrictions but guiding principles that support students’ growth and success. They also encouraged learners to actively participate in building a culture of discipline and cooperation within the school community.

Students listened attentively as facilitators highlighted essential DepEd orders and institutional guidelines, underscoring their importance in shaping responsible and well-rounded individuals.

EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 51
LIFTING OF CLASS SUSPENSION

An order lifting the suspension of classes at all levels, in both public and private schools within the Municipality of Caraga, Davao Oriental, effective June 8, 2026, at 10:30 PM.

In view of this issuance, regular face-to-face classes will resume tomorrow, June 9, 2026 (Tuesday). All learners are expected to attend their classes.

Although classess have resumed, everyone is strongly advised to remain vigilant and continue observing safety precautions, especially in light of possible aftershocks or related emergencies. Always follow established school safety and disaster preparedness protocols when necessary.

Pantuyan National High School successfully conducted its first faculty meeting for the school year, beginning with the election of officers. The gathering was presided over by School Head Dr. Esacio I. Monday, Jr., who led the discussions and set the tone for the academic year.

Following the election, faculty members engaged in a comprehensive review of DepEd Orders, ensuring alignment with national directives and school priorities. The meeting highlighted the importance of collaboration, compliance, and shared responsibility in implementing DepEd policies.
