With a gleam of light that gradually shines brighter than ever before, you have successfully managed to bear through the difficulties of being a college student. From juggling plenty of academic tasks to numerous late-night study sessions, all of your efforts were not in vain.

A send-off ceremony which includes their pinning and orientation for Data Privacy Act, Sexual Harassment, and Safe Spaces Act commenced last Thursday, June 11 at the USJ-R Main Campus AVR.

It has been an absolute pleasure watching their hardwork, listen to their perspectives, and witness their dedication as part of the community. Now, its time to bring it out into the world!

We have no doubt that you all will do amazing things in your respective intern offices! May you bring back the values and lessons you learned and share them with us in the future.

Philippine Independence Day: Upholding Freedom, Sovereignty, and Global Cooperation

Every 12th of June, the Philippines commemorates its hard-earned independence—a testament to the courage, resilience, and patriotism of generations who fought for the nation's freedom and self-determination. Philippine Independence Day serves not only as a remembrance of the country's historic struggle against colonial rule but also as a reaffirmation of the values of democracy, peace, and national sovereignty.

As a proud member of the United Nations, the Philippines continues to uphold these principles on the global stage. Through active participation in international cooperation, peacebuilding efforts, sustainable development initiatives, and the promotion of human rights, the nation contributes to the collective mission of fostering a more just, peaceful, and inclusive world.

Notably, the Philippines is one of the 51 founding members of the United Nations and was among the nations that signed the UN Charter in 1945, demonstrating its longstanding commitment to multilateral diplomacy and international cooperation. Today, the country remains an active participant in advancing the ideals of peace, development, and global solidarity.

This Independence Day, we honor the sacrifices of the past while recognizing our shared responsibility to shape a future grounded in unity, dignity, and cooperation among nations. May the spirit of freedom inspire every Filipino to become an active force for progress—both within our nation and in the international community.

Our take another significant step in their International Studies journey as they celebrate their Pinning Ceremony, marking the beginning of their internship experience. Today, we honor this remarkable milestone and the exciting chapter that lies ahead for our interns.

The Josenian Junior Diplomats have had the privilege of witnessing these interns' dedication and growth throughout the years. The knowledge and skills they have learned inside the classroom will now be tested in the real world as they embark on diverse learning opportunities in the fields of diplomacy, governance, international relations, and beyond.

The Josenian Junior Diplomats (JJD) participated at the ASEAN Youth Consultation Forum called Ctrl+Youth: Shaping ASEAN's Digital Future held at the Department of Education (DepEd) Ecotech Center last May 30, 2026.

Spearheaded by Tayo ang Taya (TAYA), a non-governmental organization composed of youth leaders who serves an independent watchdog of our government leadership in the country. The event was in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and in collaboration of other youth organizations and coalitions in Cebu City.

The youth consultation series feeds into the Philippines' ASEAN 2026 Chairship which opened new opportunities for young leaders to contribute to policy discussions and advocate for responsible digital transformation. By connecting ideas, experiences, and aspirations, the forum reinforced the importance of youth participation in developing shared strategies toward a safer and more resilient digital future.

We proudly congratulate our IS Batch 2022 Summa Cum Laude, Ms. Destinee Noor for achieving yet another remarkable milestone of being the Valedictorian of the School of Law Batch 2026.
