โEvery year, the month of June reminds us of our profound responsibility to our planet.
โ
In the Philippines, this observance holds official weight. Under Presidential Proclamation No. 237 signed in 1988, June is celebrated as Philippine Environmental Month, a month-long campaign dedicated to protecting, conserving, and restoring our countryโs natural resources.
โ
โToday, as we observe World Environment Day this June, we are reminded that the future of our planet depends on the choices we make today. While environmental problems continue to affect communities around the world, every individual still has the power to make a difference through simple yet meaningful actions.
โ
โProtecting the environment does not always require grand gestures. Sometimes, it begins with reducing waste, conserving resources, and being mindful of how our daily habits affect the world around us.
โ
โEasternians, join the rest of the nation in this vital observance, as we are reminded that the future of our environment depends heavily on the choices we make today. Because real change does not start only when nature is already at its breaking point.
โ
โIt starts the moment we choose to care. Let us take action today, because the only wrong time to act is later. ๐ฑ
