𝐌𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐬

✏️Quiz Bowl is a team-based academic competition where participants are grouped into teams of four through a fair count-off method and use whiteboards to answer questions.

✏️The quiz consists of 10 easy (1 point), 5 medium (3 points), and 5 hard (5 points) questions, with a total of 50 points. Questions are read twice, and teams must raise their whiteboards upon the facilitator’s signal.

✏️Points are awarded based on accuracy, and in case of a tie, a tiebreaker round will be held. The team with the highest total score wins.

Step into the arena where every letter counts and every word could lead you closer to victory. “Word War: Scrabble Match” challenges participants to think critically, strategize carefully, and showcase their mastery of language in an intense head-to-head competition.
Whether you’re a wordsmith, strategist, or simply someone who loves a good challenge, this event is your chance to prove that excellence can be spelled one tile at a time. 🧠

𝐌𝐄𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐒:
𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡-𝐮𝐩
• Each match consists of 2 players per board.
• Day 1: Two matches in the morning and two matches in the afternoon, producing 4 winners.
• Day 2: Semifinals and Finals.
𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲
• Each player starts with 7 randomly drawn tiles.
• The game contains 100 tiles: 42 vowels, 56 consonants, and 2 blank tiles.
• Blank tiles may represent any letter but are worth 0 points.
𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞
• The first word must be placed on the center square.
• Only valid dictionary words are allowed.
𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬
• Words may only be formed horizontally or vertically.
• New words must connect to existing words on the board.
• Players refill their racks to 7 tiles after every turn.

• Each letter carries a corresponding point value.

What starts as a normal gathering slowly turns into a case waiting to be solved. A crime has been committed, and no one is completely innocent. Everyone has a story, a motive, and something to hide.

The real question is… who did it?

🕵🏻𝐌𝐄𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐒

☑️ The game is played by 4–20 participants who will take on the role of investigators within a simulated crime scenario.

☑️ Each player is assigned a unique character that comes with a detailed backstory, relationships with other characters, personal objectives, and hidden information that may influence the outcome of the game.

☑️ The activity begins with a briefing and character introductions, after which the crime is revealed, signaling the official start of the investigation phase.

☑️ Throughout the game, players must complete specific objectives and interact with others to gather clues, while unfinished tasks may result in missing important information needed to solve the case.

☑️ Once all objectives are completed, players are given an accusation sheet to identify the culprit, and winners are determined based on correct identification, with priority given to those who finish their objectives first.

✔️ A short orientation will be conducted before the debate begins.
✔️ The motion will only be revealed before preparation time.
✔️ Teams will have 15 minutes to prepare.
✔️ No internet use or communication with other teams during preparation.
✔️ Each speaker will deliver a 5–7 minute speech.
✔️ Opposing teams may raise Points of Information (POIs) during speeches.
✔️ Adjudicators will rank teams every round:
🥇 1st Place – 3 Points
🥈 2nd Place – 2 Points
🥉 3rd Place – 1 Point
4️⃣ 4th Place – 0 Points

🏆 Final rankings will be based on cumulative points after 4 rounds, with speaker scores serving as the tiebreaker.

For 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗲 𝗥. 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗮, a 3rd-year BSCE student and ESAS Scholar, the road to success hasn't always been a straight line. Reflecting on a challenging probationary period during her first year, Princess shares how a "slap by reality" ultimately strengthened her resolve and her foundation in faith.
"I survived up until this year because of faith," she says. "It’s been a long journey, but with God guiding me, there’s nothing to be worried about. He got me. He got you."

To navigate the demands of engineering, Princess relies on a balanced blend of disciplined strategy and intentional self-care.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆

Princess believes that success begins with deep intentionality and self-awareness. She emphasizes the importance of noting down everything and mentally tracking your own study habits to build a sustainable momentum. When it is time to work, she advocates for total immersion — shutting down social media and eliminating distractions to give your absolute everything to a specific subject. Beyond individual effort, she highlights the power of community, encouraging students to surround themselves with peers who share the same goals and to never hesitate when seeking or offering help with study materials.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗘𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀

Maintaining that energy requires a practical approach to physical and mental well-being. To stay alert and active during midnight sessions, Princess swears by keeping "focus snacks" like 𝗗𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗡𝘂𝘁𝘀 on her study table. She also views food as a vital "comfort buddy," using it to compensate for lost sleep and to boost her spirits during heavy exam weeks. To prevent burnout, she recommends a rhythmic approach: alternating between periods of intense focus and short breaks with entertainment videos to reset when the mind feels full.
Above all, Princess reminds us to stay grounded. While schoolwork is a priority, taking care of yourself and enjoying the process is what truly sustains the journey. As she puts it: 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴!
