The SVD – Philippines is organizing a special task force to deliver Psychological First Aid (PFA) to teachers in Daanbantayan, Cebu on 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓. The team is looking for 𝟐𝟎 𝐝𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬 to be part of this meaningful service activity.

This opportunity is open to all Alumni and USC Psychology Graduate Students who are willing to volunteer for this upcoming response activity.

In response to the recent earthquake on September 30 and Typhoon Tino on November 4, and at the request of many of our students, the USC Department of Psychology is pleased to offer a 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 𝐏𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐢𝐝 (𝐏𝐅𝐀) 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐔𝐒𝐂 𝐁𝐒-𝐏𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬. The USC Department of Psychology is organizing a 𝐏𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐢𝐝 (𝐏𝐅𝐀) 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 for USC Undergraduate Students in response to the recent earthquake (September 30) and Typhoon Tino (November 5) that affected Cebu. This initiative aims to provide psychological and spiritual support to help students process their experiences, find comfort in shared understanding, and foster emotional healing in a safe and supportive space.

We are inviting 𝐔𝐒𝐂 𝐏𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐧𝐢 to volunteer as Facilitators or Safety Officers/ Counselor-on-call for this meaningful activity. 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐅𝐀 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞. We announce with deep sorrow the passing of Ma’am Julieta D. Abordo.

Ma’am Juliet was a beloved teacher, mentor, and friend. She played a vital role in training our students and shaping future practitioners. Through her practice of clinical psychology, she helped countless individuals with care, compassion, and dedication.
