ANNOUNCEMENT | CNU eyes hybrid learning modality for SY 2026–2027

To ensure the continuity of quality instruction across colleges at Cebu Normal University (CNU)–Main Campus, the university is eyeing a hybrid learning modality in select colleges for the opening of classes on August 3.

This comes as the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) announced that it is seeking approval from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for the class setup for School Year 2026–2027.

Under the proposed learning modality, classes will be 50% onsite and 50% offsite for the College of Teacher Education, College of Arts, and College of Sciences.

Moreover, 100% onsite classes will be implemented for the College of Medicine, College of Law, and College of Nursing due to the "nature of their programs and training requirements."

The Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Daisy Palompon said that the decision comes as the university ensures "the continuity of quality instruction while addressing temporary limitations in classroom availability due to ongoing renovation, repair, and infrastructure enhancement projects in some buildings within the campus."

Details regarding class schedules, learning delivery arrangements, and room assignments will be released as soon as the necessary documentary requirements and permits are secured from the Commission on Higher Education.

The CNU Math Circle Organization would like to clarify the suspension of its official page.

On May 29, Master Licianne Lee Fajardo was informed by Press Director II Mary Agustin Arda that our official page had been suspended. Upon careful examination, the Head Executive and the Public Information Dissemination Committee confirmed that the page’s owner account was flagged as suspicious and required identity verification. Since the account name “Mathe Circle” could not be verified, recovery was no longer possible.

In light of this, the organization has resolved to establish a new official page, with its administration entrusted to the Press Directors to ensure continuity and accountability.
Though we part with a page that once held our milestones and memories, we embrace this moment as a turning point. With renewed strength and unity, we look forward to building new chapters together, anchored in our shared passion for Mathematics and our commitment to the department.

This renewal is further strengthened by the ratification of the CNU-Math Circle 2026 Constitution, which provides a clearer framework for governance and accountability. Together, the new page and the new Constitution mark the beginning of a stronger journey ahead, one that ensures stability, unity, and service to the Mathematics Department.
