Today, we commemorate 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲, a celebration of the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering spirit of Filipinos who fought for our nation's freedom.

On June 12, 1898, the Philippine flag was raised and our independence was proclaimed—a defining moment that reminds us of the strength found in unity, patriotism, and hope. More than a reflection on our history, this day is a call for every Filipino to honor that legacy through service, integrity, and love for our country.

As future healthcare professionals and citizens of the nation, may we continue to uphold the values of compassion, resilience, and responsibility, carrying forward the freedom won by those who came before us.

Following the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck General Santos City earlier today at 7:37 AM, causing extensive damage to infrastructure and affecting countless students, families, and their local communities. Student councils and leaders from various universities nationwide have come together to launch a unified donation drive in support of ongoing relief efforts.

In partnership with MSU–General Santos SSC, this initiative aims to provide financial assistance to communities most affected by the disaster.
