Southwestern University PHINMA proudly congratulates the College of Information Technology's Team Tabo for emerging as Champion Innovators at SolutionFest Cebu 2026, held during the CBM Technology and Innovation Forum on June 18, 2026.

Addressing some of Cebu's most pressing challenges through creativity, innovation, and technology-driven solutions, our third-year IT students - Gabriel Benedict Enopia, Ricky Tano, Vince Lagahid, and Althea Ablan - demonstrated teamwork and dedication throughout the competition. Their remarkable achievement was made possible through the guidance and support of their mentors, John Baldonido and Ira Pongasi, together with the leadership of Dean Desiree Cendana.

GRAND CHAMPIONS! TEAM UMASENSO TAKES THE CROWN!

We are incredibly proud to announce that Team UmaSenso has been named the GRAND CHAMPION of the Cebu SolutionsFest 2026 Student Track!

After securing their spot in the Top 3, the team took the big stage today at the Waterfront during the CBM 2026 Technology & Innovation Forum. They delivered a flawless pitch to a room packed with provincial LGU decision-makers, and industry leaders.

Team UmaSenso’s winning solution, Tabo, is transforming the agricultural sector. Functioning as a dedicated social media platform and marketplace, it links farmers directly to consumers, cutting out unnecessary middlemen entirely. Through Tabo, farmers can transparently post their prices, creating an honest, open, and more profitable ecosystem for both producers and buyers.

Not only did they blow the judges away to bring home the championship, but they also opened massive doors for real-world impact, piloting, and investment!
