With this theme, the SACFH Community opens a new formation year, reminding everyone that true growth comes from remaining in Christ, the source of all life and mission.

The celebration began with a Holy Spirit Mass, with Fr. Pio Macabenta, CSsR, as the main celebrant. This was followed by a community dinner and a presentation by the seminarians. A token of appreciation was also given to the speaker and facilitator of the Theater Arts Workshop, Bro. Roger Buot, CSsR.

The opening salvo was attended by the confreres, Redemptorist Vocation Associates (RVA), staff, Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (MPS), teachers, RYM Cebu, and other formation collaborators.

As the journey begins, may all remain rooted in Christ and bear fruit in their vocation and mission.

Last June 11, 2026, the SACFH Community celebrated the birthday of our seminary cook, Bernabe “Boss Bob” Ludovice

For more than 30 years, Boss Bob has faithfully served the seminary. His dedication and hard work continue to inspire us.

Thank you, Boss Bob, for your service and for being part of our family. May God bless you with good health and more years to come.

Today, we joyfully celebrate the gift of your life! Thank you for your tireless dedication and loving service as our Seminary Cook, always preparing our meals with care and a cheerful heart. May God continue to bless you with good health, happiness and the grace to keep sharing your warmth with everyone around you.

𝐒𝐀𝐂𝐅𝐇 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 | 𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐀𝐆𝐄

On July 10, the eight new seminarians of St. Alphonsus Collegiate Formation House formally began their formation journey through the Rite of Passage.

Through a series of meaningful and symbolic rituals, the Rite of Passage invited the seminarians to reflect deeply on their vocation, renew their commitment, and courageously respond to God's call with a wholehearted “yes.”

As they take this important step in their formation, we humbly ask for your prayers that they may remain faithful, fruitful, and steadfast in their vocation, growing each day in their love for God and service to His people.

“May He who began a good work in them bring it to completion.” (Philippians 1:6)

Today marks the start of the retreat of the new seminarians at the Holy Family Retreat House, Nivel Hills Lahug, Cebu City. It will last until June 10, 2026. Let us pray for them as they take this time to listen to God in silence and prayer.

As we go back, may we be ready to continue the journey.

May we unlearn the things that do not help us grow,

𝐒𝐀𝐂𝐅𝐇 | 𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊: 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝟔

The day started much earlier than usual as we woke up at around 2:00 AM to prepare for our trip to the Sacred Heart Chaplaincy. We joined the Fun Run activity together with the community, enjoying the energy and enthusiasm of everyone who participated.

A special congratulations goes to two of our seminarians who successfully placed among the Top 10 finishers of the event. Their achievement brought joy and pride to the whole community.

In the afternoon, we gathered for our Dynamic Groupings, where we took part in various games and team-building activities. The different challenges encouraged cooperation, creativity, and camaraderie among the seminarians. Laughter filled the venue as everyone actively participated, making the activities both enjoyable and meaningful.

Although the day began very early and was physically demanding, it was filled with fun, fellowship, and memorable experiences. Through the activities, we strengthened our friendships, learned the value of teamwork, and deepened our sense of community. It was truly a day marked by joy, energy, and gratitude.

𝑫𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒈𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝑫𝒊𝒐𝒔!

𝐒𝐀𝐂𝐅𝐇 | 𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊: 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝟓

The day began with Lauds, lifting our voices in praise and thanksgiving.

At 8:30 AM, we departed for a city tour around Mandaue, Cebu, and Lapu‑Lapu City. Our first stop was the National Shrine of Our Lady of Rule (Birhen sa Regla), where we learned its history as the very first Redemptorist Church in the Philippines.

Next, we proceeded to Mactan Battle Shrine and shared lunch together there. We then visited the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebu, Magellan’s Cross, Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral, Fort San Pedro, and the National Museum of Cebu.

It was truly a memorable day — filled with laughter, new learnings, and wonderful moments. We gained a deeper appreciation of the rich faith, history, and culture of the places and people we are called to serve.

𝑫𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒈𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝑫𝒊𝒐𝒔!

𝐒𝐀𝐂𝐅𝐇 | 𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊: 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝟒

The Orientation Week began with the Holy Mass presided over by Fr. Richie Cuaton, C.Ss.R.

After Mass, the new seminarians visited the twelve communities under the care of the Redemptorist Church. They met parishioners, chapel leaders, and community members, gaining a deeper appreciation of the people they are called to serve.

At noon, the seminarians visited the Sacred Heart Chaplaincy, where they were warmly welcomed by the youth. They also met the chaplain priest Rev. Fr. Pio O. Macabenta, C,Ss,R who shared the history and mission of the chaplaincy.

The day concluded with Evening Prayer, followed by a Movie Night where the seminarians relaxed, shared moments of fellowship, and strengthened their bonds as a community before calling it a day.
