SAINT OF ORDINARY LIFE
Celebrating the Feast of St. Josemarรญa Escrivรก
Today, we join the Opus Dei community in celebrating the feast day of its founder, St. Josemarรญa Escrivรก.
A Holy Mass will be celebrated at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral, presided over by Most Rev. Isabelo Abarquez, DD.
St. Josemarรญaโs life reminds us of the universal call to holiness โ that every person, regardless of vocation or state of life, is invited to grow in love for God and reflect His presence in the world.
Following his example and the mission of Opus Dei, we are called to unite our spiritual life with our professional, social, and family responsibilities, discovering that holiness can be found in the ordinary moments of our daily lives.
Founded in 1928 by St. Josemarรญa Escrivรก, Opus Dei โ meaning โWork of Godโ โ continues to share the message that everyone is called to holiness and that our work can become a means of serving God and others.
At CITE, we are inspired by this message as we continue our mission of forming people through education, recognizing that our core values work, prayer, and service can become a path toward holiness.

As part of CITE's continuing promotion of its One-Year Production Technology Program for out-of-school youth, Senior High School graduates, and graduates of the old curriculum, CITE hosted a youth forum attended by 22 Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials representing 13 barangays across Cebu City and Mandaue City on June 10, 2026.
The forum introduced participants to CITEโs educational offerings, with particular focus on its Dual Training System (DTS) and the employment opportunities available through the Production Technology program. SK officials were oriented on how they can become partners in advancing technical education and guiding young people in their communities toward skills development and sustainable employment opportunities.
The Production Technology Program is a one-year intensive technical-vocational training program designed to develop industry-ready skilled workers through a balanced approach of classroom instruction, hands-on workshop training, and real industry exposure.
Implemented in partnership with Lear Corporation, the program follows a 2-month in-school training and 10-month industry immersion model, enabling students to gain practical workplace experience while developing technical competencies aligned with current industry requirements.
Presentations during the forum were delivered by Teody Mar Jimenez, Industry, Government Community Relations (IGCR) Supervisor, and Leonardo Arriesgado, Production Technology Subjects Coordinator, who discussed CITEโs training approach, industry linkages, and the role of youth leaders in expanding access to education and employment opportunities.
Through the forum, CITE aims to strengthen collaboration with youth leaders and increase awareness of accessible education pathways and employment opportunities for young people in their respective communities.
Among the participants were Sophia Adolfo, Kristine Oliveros, Sher Rilyn Batiloy, and Danamar Pradilla (Barangay Cabancalan); Jes Vincent Sungahid, Chielo Apuya, and Jeff Ramos (Barangay Tawason); Joley May Torino and Aireen May Batoon (Barangay Bacayan); Gwyneth Macasero (Barangay Basak); Kyla Asibuque and Riza Mae Laurente (Barangay Canduman); Christian Maluya and Janice Mondares (Barangay Labogon); Mario Lumacad Jr. (Barangay Capitol Site); Cyrill Rhea Oporto and Gerald Ponce (Barangay Talamban); Aleyha Ashley Canoneo and Mark Evan Panganoron (Barangay Kalubihan); Ray Mapait Jr. (Barangay Capitol); and Shanetelle Labra (Barangay Guadalupe).
