As the primary coordinators and representatives of their respective colleges or departments within the organization, College Heads play a vital role in campus democracy. In this position, you will serve as the official representative of your college, disseminate important announcements directly to students, monitor local activities, and coordinate student concerns with the commission to maintain overall order and participation.

Project: BLOOM is an ad hoc initiative under the Southwestern University PHINMA College of Pre-Medicine (BS Psychology & BS Biology), created to support students in their academic journey. At its heart, Project: BLOOM goes beyond academics—it is a community rooted in connection, care, and a “helping hand” approach where students uplift one another to ensure equitable learning opportunities for all.

As we continue to strengthen this initiative, we are looking for ONE (1) Elder per House (5 Houses total)—trusted student leaders who will help guide, coordinate, and nurture their assigned House.

🌿 Elder Responsibilities:
• Oversee and support the overall performance and development of their assigned House
• Help plan and facilitate house activities aligned with BLOOM’s goals and values
• Serve as the main link between Big Sis and Line Heads for smooth communication and coordination
• Guide Line Heads in organizing peer mentoring and tutoring initiatives within the House
• Monitor academic needs and concerns through regular updates and reports from Line Heads

Elders act as the steady presence of each House—providing structure, encouragement, and support to ensure every member feels guided, supported, and included in both academic and community spaces.

Last May 23, our freshmen hopped on an exciting day filled with discovery, learning, and unforgettable experiences as they explored the Psychology and Biology booths! 🧬

The experience came alive as curious minds stepped into the fascinating world of Psychology and Biology — uncovering how the mind works and exploring the wonders of life and science. Every booth offered something exciting, from interactive activities and hands-on experiences to moments that sparked curiosity and made learning even more fun. 🩵
