Yesterday, we recognize not only academic excellence but also the determination and purpose that inspire our students to rise above challenges and pursue their dreams. We likewise extend our heartfelt appreciation to the parents, guardians, faculty, staff, and the City Government of Davao for their unwavering support in shaping the future leaders of our community.

On June 15, 2026, the City College of Davao (CCD) community gathered at the CCD Social Hall to recognize outstanding student achievers and faculty milestones during its 3rd Recognition Ceremony.

The event commenced with opening remarks from College President Dr. Wenefredo E. Cagape, who challenged the students to embody core values: to study well, live with discipline, serve with gratitude, and transform into professionals committed to community and nation-building.

Showing strong support for CCD's vision, City Councilor Al Ryan Alejandre attended to read the official message of City Mayor Sebastian Z. Duterte. Also in attendance to witness the ceremony were BOT members Hon. Pilar C. Braga and Ms. Belinda Torres, City Councilor Atty. Diosdado Mahipus Jr., and the CCD Administration, faculty, and staff.

The ceremony highlighted student excellence across various fields, presenting the Academic Excellence Awards, Extracurricular and Co-Curricular Awards, and Service Awards. Furthermore, CCD took the opportunity to honor faculty members who have advanced their academic journeys by completing their Master's and Doctoral Degree Programs.

The event was formally brought to a close by Dr. Edroslyn J. Fernandez, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who expressed profound gratitude to the parents, faculty, and guests, while challenging the awardees to sustain their academic momentum and integrity.

The seminar serves as a platform to deepen awareness, strengthen collaboration, and reaffirm our commitment to creating a safe and empowering environment for all.

The City College of Davao assembled at the Apo View Hotel for a Gender and Development Seminar with the theme, “Building an Inclusive and Gender-Responsive Workplace.” The seminar formally commenced with the welcome remarks delivered by Dr. Wenefredo E. Cagape, college president, who warmly welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of an inclusive and gender-responsive environment.

In a nutshell, the insightful discussion shared by the speaker, Ms. Lorna B. Mandin, Division Head of the Integrated Gender and Development Division, focused on promoting a gender-responsive environment across all development programs. The speaker also emphasized the importance of addressing issues involving gender inequalities and highlighted the need for women to be aware of their rights in both the workplace and society.

The seminar session indeed enhanced knowledge and understanding within the CCD community, encouraging everyone to become more aware of and actively involved in promoting gender equality practices.
