Conservation Biology | Wildlife Biologist | Philippine Eagle Foundation

The return of the Philippine Eagle to Leyte highlights its broader significance for biodiversity conservation in the Philippines. This talk introduces reintroduction and conservation translocation as key approaches in species recovery and presents telemetry as an important tool for understanding animal movement and informing conservation efforts. It ultimately highlights why restoring the Philippine Eagle to part of its historical range matters for biodiversity conservation and for increasing public understanding of species recovery.

Julia is part of the effort to protect the Philippine Eagle, the country’s national bird, and will speak on “𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗘𝗮𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗟𝗲𝘆𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀”
