𝗖𝗢𝗦𝗖𝗔, 𝗦𝗣𝗨𝗗 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽

DUMAGUETE CITY, June 4, 2026 — Colegio de Sta. Catalina de Alejandria, Inc. (COSCA) and St. Paul University Dumaguete (SPUD) formalized a strategic academic partnership through the signing of a 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗠𝗢𝗨) on June 4 at the COSCA Vice President for Academic Affairs Office.

The agreement was signed by COSCA President 𝗥𝗲𝘃. 𝗙𝗿. 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗹 𝗕. 𝗚𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘇, 𝗣𝗵𝗗 and SPUD President 𝗦𝗿. 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯, 𝗦𝗣𝗖, marking a strengthened collaboration between the two institutions.

The partnership establishes cooperation in educators’ forums, work-to-learn programs, guest lecturing, student immersion, benchmarking, research, quality assurance, and community extension initiatives.

Both institutions reinforced their shared commitment to advancing academic excellence, fostering professional development, and expanding opportunities for students, faculty, and partner communities.

Through the MOU, COSCA and SPUD aim to strengthen institutional linkages, promote best practices, and pursue innovative academic and community-based initiatives in higher education.

Colegio de Sta. Catalina de Alejandria, Inc. (COSCA) received the Model Implementer Award for the Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST) during the 2nd CHED-Negros Island Region (NIR) Regional Quality Awards held on May 26, 2026, at STI West Negros University, Bacolod City.

The recognition was conferred as part of the celebration of the 32nd Founding Anniversary of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the observance of the 6th National Higher Education Day.

Institutional data showed that COSCA recorded 918 scholars during the first semester of School Year 2025–2026, consisting of 674 institutional scholars and 244 beneficiaries of government-funded financial assistance programs.

The number increased to 992 scholars in the second semester, with 757 under institutional scholarship grants and 235 receiving government-funded assistance. | via Wilmar Martin Pimentel, Chimes Correspondent

𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞 emerged as the 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐃𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 in the Philippine Military Academy 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠-𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, marking a proud and historic feat for the city and his alma mater. The graduation rites were held on 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟔, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, where Infante also stood out as 𝐇𝐚𝐰𝐤 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲 – 𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫.

Once crowned 𝐌𝐫. 𝐂𝐎𝐒𝐂𝐀 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟓, Infante has transformed from a student leader in school into one of the country’s newest military officers, proving that excellence, discipline, and service can shape extraordinary destinies. His remarkable journey from campus stage to military parade ground now serves as a powerful symbol of dedication and patriotism.

As Dumaguete’s sole PMA graduate this year, Infante’s achievement transcends personal success. It becomes a collective victory of pride and purpose. It stands as a powerful testament that from the heart of COSCA rise leaders forged by discipline and driven by service, ready to answer the call of nationhood with honor, courage, and unwavering resolve.
