𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐞𝐥𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞 𝐑. 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐜, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension and Chairperson of PHILOHUN, introduced the two esteemed speakers. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐘𝐮𝐬𝐮𝐟 𝐀. 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐨𝐥, UPLB Climate and Disaster Risk Studies Center Coordinator, talked about the “Future Thinking in One Health: Safeguarding Humans, Animals, and Ecosystems for Climate Change Disasters” followed by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐍𝐞𝐢𝐥 𝐂. 𝐓𝐚𝐧𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐮𝐭, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Pampanga State Agricultural University, presented about the “One Health Approach and Our Future”.

𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐥 𝐋. 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲, Director, UPLB ZC & Vice Chairperson of PHILOHUN concluded the event by emphasizing the vital role of the One Health Approach in addressing complex nature of diseases through strong collaboration across sectors especially at the grassroots level and by working together, we can build a resilient future in the Philippines.

AMR develops when bacteria, fungi, parasites, and viruses evolve and resist treatment, leading to prolonged illnesses and higher mortality rates.

As scientists, healthcare professionals, and informed citizens, it is our shared responsibility to advocate for the responsible use of antimicrobials, strengthen infection prevention and control efforts, and invest in research. Practicing responsible antibiotic stewardship safeguards the efficacy of life-saving medicines for future generations.
