The OVCPD is responsible for planning and implementing UPLB’s development programs.

With the proposed water refilling station, UPLB will be able to provide accessible potable water for the consumption of its constituents.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Vice President for Development Ferdinand Jesus Pecson, Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development Fernando Paras, Jr., and Vice Chancellor for Administration Rolando Bello.

OVCPD Today, 15 June 2023.

In an ongoing UP System Infrastructure workshop spearheaded by Vice President for Development Ferdinand Jesus A. Pecson, the UPLB delegates from OVCPD led by VC Fernando O. Paras, Jr., presented UPLB's infrastructure project delivery workflow along with the problems encountered. UPLB’s best practices, and infrastructure updates were also included in the presentation.

The workshop with the theme, “Infrastructure projects delivered on time, on budget, and on quality" is being held at the CC Distance Learning Auditorium of the University of the Philippines Open University.

Said workshop is being attended by the respective Vice Chancellors for Planning and Development as well as the heads of the Campus Architect of the various UP Campuses.

OVCPD AVC Rachel S. Mojado, UPMO Director Marloe B. Sundo, and PDS Chief Arch. William Jeffrey Y. Ranola are also in attendance to the event which will be conducted until Friday, 16 June 2023.

Central Bicol State University of Agriculture paid a visit to UPLB as part of the Cross Visits to Higher Education Institutions in Luzon Cum Planning Workshop.

Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs Roberto P. Cereno gave the opening remarks, followed by presentations from the representatives of the Budget Management Office (BMO) and University Planning and Maintenance Office (UPMO), wherein they shared the processes and best practices of the University for various areas.

Specifically, BMO OIC John Reymark C. Garcia shared a presentation on Institutional Planning and Budgeting. It was proceeded by a video presentation on the UPLB Land Use Development and Infrastructure Plan (LUDIP).

The remaining presentations were provided by representatives from UPMO covering the following: Project Planning and Design Management, Construction Management, and Facilities Maintenance. These topics were discussed by Arch. William Jeffrey Y. Rañola of the Planning and Design Section (PDS), Engr. Arnel I. Pantig of the Construction, Supervision, and Inspection Section (CSIS), and UPMO Deputy Director Donny Rey D. Camus, respectively. UPMO Director Marloe B. Sundo was also present with the team to support the discussions.

In between each topic was the open forum where representatives of CBSUA raised concerns on matters they usually encounter and asked questions wherein Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development Fernando O. Paras, Jr. and the resource persons shared the best practices being conducted by the University. It was also remarked that the University is willing to assist CBSUA specifically on questions related to the latter's LUDIP.

As part of the closing remarks, VC Paras mentioned that UPLB would also want to visit CBSUA and learn as well from their best practices.

UPLB Infrastructure Update:

VC for Community Affairs Roberto Cereno, VC for Planning and Development Fernando Paras, Jr., and AVC Rachel Mojado led the turnover of documents of the plans and estimates for the UPLB Townhouses Project to Pag-IBIG representatives.

The UPLB Pag-IBIG Townhouses is set to be constructed along Domingo M. Lantican Ave (going to CFNR) to serve as a faculty housing.

The University of Northern Philippines (UNP) led by Environmental Management Office Director Anna Liza V. Europa-Morales awarded a certificate of recognition to UPLB for sharing its best practices on the provision of environmental management processes. The certificate was received by VC Fernando O. Paras, Jr.

Prior to this, the UNP Benchmarking was held to strengthen their environment policies with Engr. Donny Rey D. Camus, Chief of Grounds, Roads, and Garbage Section, spearheading the discussion with the UNP delegates.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held this afternoon for the construction of the UPLB Community Center at the site of the formerly known College Consumers Cooperative.

This project is personally funded by UPLB alumna and Santa Rosa, Laguna Mayor Arlene B. Arcillas. She was one of the 2021 UPAA Distinguished Alumni Awardees for good governance and this project is her way to give back to her alma mater.

As part of the program flow, Chancellor Jose V. Camacho, Jr. gave a welcome message, immediately followed by the project status from VC for Administration Assoc. Prof. Rolando T. Bello and a message from Mayor Arcillas.

According to Mayor Arcillas, the UPLB Community Center is more than just for physical convergence but is also a place for emotional convergence where relationships can be formed.

After these messages is the ceremonial groundbreaking led by UPLB constituents and Mayor Arcillas.

The program ended with a closing message from VC for Community Affairs For. Roberto P. Cereno.

The target completion of the construction of the building is by the 4th quarter of 2023.

The OVCPD, headed by Vice Chancellor Fernando O. Paras, Jr., met with PLDT representatives today to discuss their plans for the fallen and misplaced posts and wires along IPB Road.

PLDT plans to relocate the said posts to ensure smooth flow of traffic and for efficient utilization of university roads.

Earlier today, VC Fernando Paras, Jr. and AVC Rachel Mojado had a meeting with PNR representatives to discuss the upgrading of fiber optic network that will cross the railroad going to Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

The Rotary Club, led by Rise Up for Sierra Madre project coordinator and former RC Los Baños Pres. Yasmin C. Andal, and RC Pakil Pres. Resty Barcebal, presented a token of appreciation to Chancellor Jose V. Camacho, Jr., for the partnership between UPLB and Rotary International District 3820 (Rotary Year 2021-2022) regarding the implementation of the "Rise Up 4 Sierra Madre".

Vice Chancellor Fernando O. Paras, Jr. accepted the token this afternoon on behalf of Chancellor Camacho.
